🌟 Seeking Support for Our Clothing Cycle Project at Crystal Centre, Chelmsford 🌟

At Roots of Hope CIC, we are committed to supporting people experiencing mental health challenges with dignity, compassion, and practical help.
Our Clothes Cycle Project at the Crystal Centre, Chelmsford Hospital provides essential clothing to patients on mental health wards who may arrive with very limited belongings or have no access to suitable clothing during their stay.

A fresh set of clothes can do more than meet a basic need it can restore confidence, comfort, and dignity during a difficult time.

We are currently seeking:

✅ Corporate supporters
✅ Community donations
Your support will help us maintain and expand this vital service, ensuring that patients have access to clean, appropriate clothing when they need it most.

Another week at Roots of Hope CIC 💙

This week, we collected and sorted more donations ready for distribution.

We also dropped off a pair of size 9 trainers in Chelmsford for a patient, kindly donated by a friend.

In addition, we delivered essential items to Colchester to support patients in need.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to donate and support our work.

Your kindness makes a real difference to people's lives every day. 🙏💙

GRATEFUL 🙏

We are 🌟 overwhelmed with gratitude! 🌟 Over the last few weeks, we’ve received an incredible amount of donations, and we had a big sort-out yesterday 🙌. Every single contribution means the world

This week we’ve had a short break from our usual work, but there’s still lots going on behind the scenes at Roots of Hope CIC. 💚

We are currently looking for someone who loves using Vinted to help us sell clothes and raise money to support the clothes cycle project.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with:
🧺 Washing
🧼 Ironing
🪡 Mending clothes

A day at Roots of Hope 💙

Every donation makes a difference. Here’s a little look at what happens behind the scenes each day:

✨ Donations are collected and carefully sorted

✨ Clothing and essentials are organised into drawers, ready for the wards

✨ Bags are packed with care for those who need them most

✨ Ward supplies are checked, sorted, and replenished

✨ Any clothing that is old or needs repairs is returned to the cabin to be refreshed or repurposed

☀️Summer is just around the corner, and at Roots of Hope, we’re getting ready to keep everyone cool and comfy!

🩳We’re seeking summer clothes especially men’s shorts, like the ones Charlotte is showing in our video all sizes for all men, and some women’s options too!

We’re also in need of women’s leggings, comfy joggers and all new underwear, especially medium sizes, as we’re running low.

We love hearing from the amazing peer support workers and staff about the impact our clothing donations have made. Last week, I dropped off some clothes at Colchester Awards, and even though we have a brief pause in service right now, we’re still committed to making a difference.

We love hearing feedback whether from patients or staff means the world to us!

Even though our NHS funding has been paused, we are still committed to supporting our wards by delivering essential items and emergency supplies 💙

Today, we made a drop-off to Gosfield Ward and provided urgent supplies for a patient in Hennage Ward 🚑📦

Hi everyone

We wanted to give you a heartfelt update on Roots of Hope. Due to recent funding cuts from the NHS, we have had to pause our community clothes cycles for the time being.

We’re actively working to reassess funding options with the NHS and the National Lottery so we can reallocate resources and get back on track.

Our vision remains strong each hospital will have a community clothes shop to keep the cycles going.

We’re also looking for volunteers to help with the community clothes shop if you're interested in donating a few hours, please message us!

Don’t worry we’ll be back soon, and we have more coming, like our dance project this summer.
