🎂💜 IT’S MY 50TH BIRTHDAY WEEK! 🎉 AND I HAVE A BIRTHDAY WISH… 💜

This week I’m celebrating the big 5️⃣0️⃣! 🥳

For my birthday wish this year, I would love to help Roots of Hope CIC reach £500 in donations to support our Community Clothes Cycle. 💜

💚 Community Clothes Cycle – Launch Day Feedback 💚

We’re delighted to share a testimonial from Andy, one of our wonderful volunteers, about the feedback received on our launch day on Friday 16th October at the Crystal Centre in Chelmsford! 👏👚

It was fantastic to see such a positive response to our Community Clothes Cycle, helping patients access free clothing while supporting dignity, wellbeing and recovery. 💚

🎉 WHAT AN AMAZING LAUNCH FOR OUR COMMUNITY CLOTHES CYCLE! 👚💚

Today was such an exciting day at Chelmsford Crystal Centre as Charlotte and I officially opened our very first Roots of Hope Community Clothes Cycle Shop!

We welcomed over 30 patients, who took home more than 100 items of clothing! It was also lovely to see staff supporting us by purchasing items and donating back to our charity. 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who made today possible!

💚 Our wonderful volunteers, Andy, Ricarda and Claire, for giving their time and support.

💚 Roxy, for creating our beautiful keyrings, poster and banner.

💚 Morrisons Chelmsford, for kindly donating our refreshments.

💚 And, of course, everyone who has donated clothes, supported us and helped bring this project to life.

👟 WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS!

We are particularly looking for:

- 🤰 Maternity clothing
- 👖 Women's leggings
- 👖 Women's / men's joggers
- 👟 Women's size 3 slip-on trainers

If you have any of these items in good condition that you no longer need, please consider donating them to help someone else.

Our Community Clothes Cycle Shop will be open every Friday, 10am–2pm, at Chelmsford Crystal Centre, for patients and staff.

Our aim is to give pre-loved clothes a new home while supporting people's dignity, wellbeing and hope. 💚

We are so proud of what we've achieved together today, and this is just the beginning!

At Roots of Hope CIC, we're looking for a few kind volunteers who could spare some time to help us de-bobble clothes for our Community Clothes Cycle. 🧥✨

Bobbling can make perfectly good clothes look worn, but with a little time and care, we can freshen them up and help them find a new home! ♻️

Our project supports people experiencing mental health challenges, helping to restore dignity, confidence and hope through access to clothing.

💜 Roots of Hope CIC – Community Clothes Cycle 💜

What a busy week we've had! 🥰

We've been working hard behind the scenes preparing for the launch of our Community Clothes Cycle shop at the Crystal Centre! 👕👖

From sorting clothes and putting up posters to meetings, emails and all the little things that go into making this happen, it's been a busy but exciting time!

✨ We're excited to announce that we'll be opening on Fridays, 10am–2pm, for patients at the Crystal Centre. Starting 16th October 2026💜

🙌 We're looking for volunteers!

Do you have a few hours to spare? We'd love some extra hands to help run the shop and sort donations. Every little bit of support makes a difference!

❤️ CLOTHES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE ❤️

Our Roots of Hope Vinted shop isn’t just about selling pre-loved clothing it’s helping us support patients on mental-health wards with essential clothing and underwear when they need it most.

Through generous donations from our amazing community, we sort, organise and sell good-quality items through our Vinted shop. The money raised goes directly towards providing new underwear, joggers and other essential clothing for patients who may arrive on the ward without the things they need.

Something as simple as a clean pair of underwear or comfortable clothing can make such a difference to someone’s dignity, comfort and wellbeing during an incredibly difficult time. ❤️

💜 ROOTS OF HOPE AUTUMN WARD UPDATE 💜

It’s been another busy week for the Roots of Hope team! 🍂

As the weather starts to change and that autumn breeze arrives, we’ve been back out on the wards, topping up our clothing supplies with hoodies and jumpers to help keep people warm and comfortable. 🧥💜

We are incredibly grateful for every single donation your generosity really does make a difference. 🙏

It’s been a busy summer at Roots of Hope CIC! 💚

Not only have we been juggling childcare and summer activities, but we’ve also been working hard behind the scenes to keep our CIC moving forward.

✨ Some of our summer highlights:

👕 All wards are now fully topped up with essential clothing making sure patients have access to the basics they need.

🚨 We’ve responded to 4 emergency clothing requests, including 3 referrals to food banks in Braintree and clothing support for someone experiencing domestic abuse.

📦 We’ve sorted lots and lots of donations and worked hard to keep our supplies stocked – including getting in much-needed new underwear.

💻 And then there’s the admin! Emails, accounts, marketing, meetings, planning and everything else that goes on behind the scenes of running a CIC!

🏪 Now we’re getting ready for September…

We’re hoping to get our Roots of Hope Community Clothes Shop open towards the end of September! 🎉

This will be another exciting step for us and will help us continue supporting our community while raising funds for the project.
