We take men's mental health seriously.

In you need to know half of of men struggle with mental health difficulties, yet fewer than half seek medical advice.

Su***de is the biggest cause of death for men under 35, and approximately 75% of registered su***des in England are male.
Up to 40% of men do not talk to friends or family about their mental health, and many actively hide their struggles.

Please reach out to us if you live in Essex and need support,

You can also reach out to us to help provide services that work.

We are beyond grateful to Chris and Steve and the Songs On The Summit team for climbing Snowdon to raise money for Reach Out For Mental Health.

The climb is in in honour of their son and brother Richard, who died by su***de.

To understand why they chose to support Reach Out and The Maytree Respite Centre, watch their full interview with our CEO Kirsty Eaton.

Find out why Chris and Steve are climbing the miners path through to the summit of Snowdon and raising money for ROFMH and Maytree Su***de Respite Centre.

Best of luck to brilliant Kush and Jo in tonight’s final.

What a fantastic example of the power of friendship and understanding when someone is struggling with mental health. Kush speaking about his dad’s su***de resonated so strongly with us but Jo was there to keep his mate afloat.

If you are struggling and need help, reach out to us. If you have been moved by Kush’s story and Jo’s allyship and want to help, check out how to volunteer with us on our website.

Not everyone who is struggling gets told they need help.

In fact, most of them get told the opposite. Not bad enough. Not yet. Come back when things are worse.

At Reach Out For Mental Health, we exist for those people. The ones in the middle space, not in crisis, but not okay either. The ones who deserve support before things get harder.

We’re a small Essex charity. We run on grants, donations, and the dedication of our team and volunteer counsellors. Every penny goes towards making sure that the next person who needs support, but doesn’t know if they’re “bad enough” to ask — finds us before they reach breaking point.

If Kirsty’s video resonated with you, if you’ve ever been that person, or you know someone who has, you can support what we do directly through our page.

No fundraising target. No pressure. Just a charity that shows up for people when the system doesn’t.

🔗 Donate via our page — just hit the Donate button at the top of the page.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact Samaritans on 116 123 or call 999 in an emergency.

Counselling isn't just for people who can't cope.

There's a version of asking for help that doesn't involve a waiting room, a breakdown, or proving you deserve support.

At ROFMH, our student counsellors have completed a minimum Level 4 qualification before their placement with us. They work under clinical supervision throughout. That means you get real, structured support, free of charge. One to one.

Taking action this week might just mean clicking a link. That counts. 🧡

Refer via our website.

If you are in crisis, please contact Samaritans on 116 123 or call 999.
