🎉 What a fantastic day at Latchingdon Family Music Funday! 🎶🌈

Today, members of Essex Search and Rescue were out and about meeting the local community, having some great conversations and raising awareness of the vital work we do.

Our team is there when someone goes missing — working alongside the emergency services to search for and help bring missing people home safely. 🚨🔦🧭

It was brilliant to chat with so many people, answer questions and explain more about what we do, as well as why specialist volunteer search teams like ours are so important.

A huge thank you to Latchingdon Parish Council for organising such a fantastic, completely free family event, and to everyone who stopped by our stand to say hello. ❤️

And, of course, there was plenty of music, fun, colour and entertainment along the way! 🎤🎪🎈

Officers are looking for 72 year-old Brian Weaver who’s missing from Kirby Cross.

He was reported missing at 12.10pm today (Sunday 6 September) and we don’t believe he has his wallet or phone with him.

Brian’s described as bald with a white/grey beard, wearing glasses and has tattoos down both arms.

We believe he is wearing a black t-shirt with a dragon-style motif on, black tracksuit trousers, white shoes.

If you’ve seen him, are with him, or have any information about where he is please call 999 quoting incident 537 of 6 September.

🎓 TAQA Qualification Success for Essex Search and Rescue and other Search and Rescue Teams 🎓

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from Essex Search and Rescue!

Our unit recently hosted a TAQA (Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance) course in Essex, bringing together members of search and rescue teams from across the country.

TAQA is an important qualification for those involved in the delivery, assessment and quality assurance of training within the search and rescue community. It helps ensure that the training being delivered to our volunteers is not only effective, but is assessed consistently and to the high standards expected across the sector.

Hosting the course here in Essex also gives us an excellent opportunity to further strengthen our own capability. Having appropriately qualified members within our team means we can continue to test, assess and quality-assure our own training, ensuring that our volunteers maintain the skills, knowledge and competence required under the Lowland Rescue to operate safely and effectively when supporting Essex Police and our communities.

And we’re particularly pleased to announce that every Essex Search and Rescue member who attended the course successfully passed the qualification! 🎉👏

This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment of our volunteers to continually develop their skills and maintain the highest possible standards.

A huge well done and congratulations to everyone who took part — another great example of our members investing their time and expertise to make Essex Search and Rescue stronger, safer and more capable.

We were delighted to welcome Essex Search & Rescue (ESAR) EssexSAR to our Broomfield FC Funday this summer, where they gave a fantastic demonstration and showed us some of the vital work they carry out within our community.
