Restoring a 76ft sailing boat, sailing the Atlantic to raise awareness for men’s mental health. ⛵️

This story begins with an old boat, some friends and a shared vision. For the past 20+ years she has been collecting rust and dust in Chatham Marina, until now...

It is our hope to restore her to her former glory and complete a transatlantic crossing, documenting the process on YouTube, and producing a feature length documentary for release once her second maiden voyage has been completed. Whilst completing the extensive works, we will be discussing the themes of men’s mental health, and mental health in general, that effect so many. The Greater Man Challenge is registered as a non-profit, and all excess funds raised that do not go toward the restoration and documentation of the project will be split between our charity partners.

When we launched The Greater Man Challenge last year, the first message we received was from James Snow, and alumni of boat from yesteryear.

He had been offered the trips by his father figure, whom he sadly lost to su***de several years later.

Over the past year James has become an integral part of the team, and the story of restoration, not just of the boat, but of his own mental health.

We are so proud to be able to share this experience with him, and are happier still that he will join us on the Transatlantic crossing.

Ep. 6 Trailer: On this episode we had the pleasure of joining one of our charity partners on one of their wild weekend trips in the Lake District.

Mandem Meetup is a grassroots charity promoting, correcting and improving the conversation around men’s mental health and wellbeing. They provide an open, inclusive community for all those who identify as a man, integrating a range of social, holistic and more ‘traditional’ forms of clinical support, ranging from psycho-social interventions and recreational activities, to practical advice and guidance, as well as talking therapy and more.

This was an absolutely incredible weekend which included Tom and Remi getting lost for a number of hours in the rain and thick mist of the Lake District! We are so proud to be partnering with the Mandem Meetup as what they do is beyond words incredible.
