What a fantastic session at Prince of Wales Youth Club last week! 🎉
We started the evening in the Spots Hall, where our young people played cricket. We then made our way up to the dance studio where the young people enjoyed a variety of activities including, pool, table tennis, piano, dancing, and gymnastics mats. It was great to see everyone getting involved, trying new things, and having fun together.
At 18:00pm, we were delighted to welcome two very special visitors from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust – the Deputy Head of Nursing and the Director of Nursing.
They spent time with both our junior and senior members, asking for their views and experiences around hospitals and nursing. Discussions included what young people know about nursing, what might make them feel worried or scared when visiting a hospital, and what could help make their experience better.
The young people shared their thoughts confidently and respectfully, providing valuable feedback and ideas. We are incredibly proud of how well they engaged throughout the session.
As a result of these discussions, some of our young people have been invited to visit the paediatric ward during the summer holidays to have a look around, identify what works well, and suggest areas for improvement.
A huge thank you to our visitors for taking the time to listen to our young people and for giving them the opportunity to help shape services for children and young people in our community.
Well done to everyone involved – another brilliant evening at Prince of Wales Youth Club! 💙
