Sundays for years 7-10
City Youth spend time together on Sunday mornings having loads of fun, perhaps getting a bit messy and hopefully getting inspired to grow in their relationship with Jesus. We explore the Bible together and take time to receive prayer and pray for others. Sundays for years 11-13
We encourage our older youth to engage with the main meeting on Sunday. We do this for three reaso
ns:
To help them mature, grow, be stretched and challenged in what they receive
To mature within the fellowship of the church community, where they will be treated as young adults rather than children
To enable them to feel a sense of ownership of the church for themselves, through serving within the community of the church
Small Groups
Games, a lot of laughter, nibbles, worship and Bible study - what more could you want? In our Small Group, we aim to deepen relationships with one another whilst spending time in God’s presence. There is always time to socialise and opportunity to pray for each another in a secure setting. Whitstable Small Group meets on Thursdays and Canterbury Small Group meets on Fridays. Socials
We love to spend time getting to know each other better. Throughout the year we have film evenings, girls/boys nights and beach trip... whatever we choose to do, we always have fun and it’s a great opportunity to invite friends along too! Immersed
Immersed is our new youth worship event. It’s an evening dedicated to wholeheartedly worshipping God in creative ways and building each other up in the faith. Discipleship
Discipleship gives every young person an opportunity to meet with someone slightly more mature in age and faith, for encouragement, guidance and challenge. This may mean grabbing a coffee and a chat about life, or doing a Bible/book study, depending on the need of each young person. Through discipleship, we hope to see our young people develop in their relationship with Jesus, whilst they are supported through different seasons of life. Weekend Away
The Youth Weekend Away is a fantastic opportunity to be together as a group, with slightly more time to hang out and delve a little deeper into our faith. We also enjoy a variety of activities, such as high ropes, films and of course, food! Newday
Newday is the event everyone thoroughly looks forward to every year! Taking place in Norfolk during the Summer, our youth experience a week of camping, wellies and fun, whilst enjoying worship and meetings with gifted leaders. If you would like to join or find out more, contact Lead Youth Leaders Dave and Rosie Carter (Canterbury) and Lianne Midson (Whitstable).
