The Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs & Northants We work locally in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and we have a big mission - we want to stop nature's decline.

The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire works to make our three counties a place where nature matters, where wildlife can flourish and enrich the lives of the people who live here: with your help we care for local wildlife. Ninety five per cent of the local population live within five miles of one of our 126 reserves and contributions of time or money will directly benefit local wildlife.

🚨 Fly-tipping is costing nature more than ever 🌿

Several tonnes of household waste were dumped overnight at Fancott Wood and Meadows nature reserve in Bedfordshire, costing us more than £13,000 to clear up.

From mattresses and flooring to rubble and plastic, the waste took a week to remove, taking our team away from the vital work of protecting wildlife and restoring precious habitats.

Nature reserves are home to incredible wildlife and rare wildflowers. They should be places where nature can thrive, not places for rubbish to be abandoned.

💚 Help us protect our wild spaces. Every bit of support makes a difference.

🦇Thank you bat lovers – we’ve counted the takings and this year we raised £10,349 from our Cambridge bat punt safaris!

🙌This is a fantastic figure – the second highest since we started the tours ten years ago – and it will help us protect and restore the precious habitats many bats rely on.

The bat punt safaris run from May to September each year on the River Cam and are a partnership between the Trust and Scudamore’s punting company. This year was a fantastic year for noctule bats with several reported most nights and Daubenton’s bats were regularly spotted skimming over the river surface, but once again the pipistrelles were the stars of the show wowing the participants.

💚Thank you to Scudamore's Punting Company for their continued support, everyone who bought tickets and all the volunteers who act as expert guides each night. We’ll see you again in the spring!
