📑JUST PUBLISHED📑

Galápagos wildlife is under threat from international trafficking networks.

TRAFFIC’s latest report on Galápagos wildlife trade reveals a disturbing trend: iconic endemic species like giant tortoises and iguanas are being smuggled and laundered into the global exotic pet market. This illicit trade exploits regulatory gaps and threatens the archipelago's unique biodiversity.

🐢The publication titled “Report on illegal trafficking and international legal trade in wildlife from Galapagos” features an assessment of the trends, routes, methods and drivers for wildlife trafficking in the region – highlighting land iguanas and giant tortoises as primary targets for traffickers.

🐾 This poached bear cub was rescued before being butchered for parts, but many defenceless animals aren’t so lucky.

Innocent victims stolen and trafficked with heartless cruelty.

🚨 The situation is desperate, and we need your support. This weekend, your support for wildlife goes twice as far.

Every £10 you give to TRAFFIC via Big Give becomes £20 to fund the work that stops the theft of the next generation.

Please stand with us in saving our innocent species.

Can you help us in the fight against wildlife crime?

🐒 From the Congo Basin to the jungles of Southeast Asia, shadow markets are thriving - funnelling elephant tusks, pangolin scales, and live, terrified animals into the hands of ruthless criminal syndicates.

🫆 TRAFFIC is working hard to distribute tech and training to catch those responsible for wildlife crimes. Just this month, intelligence helped dismantle a massive international trade link in Malaysia, where nearly 1,500 wildlife parts were stockpiled for sale.

📅 This weekend, donations to TRAFFIC are doubled via Big Give match funding!

That means every £10 you give becomes £20.

Help support global tactics that help put wildlife criminals behind bars.

🚜When greedy loggers carve through ancient rainforests, they aren't just stealing timber; they are rolling out the red carpet for wildlife traffickers.

🌍We are on the ground in the Congo Basin and beyond to help communities preserve the ancient forests that breathe life into our world. It’s one of the many ways TRAFFIC is working to keep wildlife safe.

We now need your help to keep this vital work going.

📢Until 29 April, any donation you make to TRAFFIC via Big Give will be DOUBLED!

Help protect wild species around the world.
