We've got a busy weekend coming up.

We'll be attending Wincle Fete tomorrow, Saturday 13th June, at Mellor Knowl Farm, Wincle.

It's a great little fete and features stalls and entertainment, and is home to the Wincle Trout Run race.

You can also find us in our usual spot by the Bull's Head in Castleton, on Sunday 14th June.

We would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to the second year level 2 joinery students from Macclesfield College, who have kindly constructed some shiny new red collection boxes for us.

Our ‘red boxes’ play a vital role in our fundraising and can be found in various outlets across our area.

Don’t they look great? We think the guys have done a fabulous job!

Our search dog Wren was working with our colleagues in Derby team yesterday.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the casualty.

CALLOUT: The team were called out by Derbyshire Police this week to assist with the search for a missing person. The team, along with Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, searched areas near Matlock. The body of a woman believed to be that of the missing person was located by a search dog within our search areas.

Our thoughts are with the lady's family and friends at this difficult time.

We received a call out on Friday evening to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service and the HART team, who were attending an incident at Harper Hill quarry, where a climber had fallen and injured themselves. Team members quickly made their way to the casualty, and, after assessment, administered pain relief. We carried the casualty by stretcher to the road, and to the awaiting ambulance, for onward transportation to hospital.

Our team members returned home around 0130 on Saturday morning.

A big thanks 🙏 to Peak Raid and the running community for the donation from the recent Great Longstone race…

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Great Longstone BMRT race! 🏃 We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we raised an incredible £1,500 for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team — every single penny will make a real difference to this vital service.

Also, congratulations to Jill Davies, Matthew Pink, and Ken Lonseth — the first three competitors to complete Peak Raid Anytime Race 3 and get points on the leaderboard. Well done to you all! 🏆

It’s National Volunteers Week this week - the perfect time to celebrate our fabulous volunteer team members.

Our team is operated solely by volunteers - a wonderful group of men and women (and of course, our search dogs) who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Our volunteers have been saving lives across Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire since 1964. Day or night, whatever the weather.

We are funded entirely by donations, and your support enables us to continue our life-saving work.

Congratulations to our newest drone pilot, Rob.

Rob has been training with the drone team for 9 months and successfully completed his theory and practical examinations to fly under the team’s operational authorisation as a pilot for SAR. We are proud of him joining the unit.

Rob said “I wanted to join the drone team because I'm a big believer in cutting edge technology helping people do things in a better way. My day job involves a lot of spatial analysis, and this is something that couples with the drone’s capabilities really well. I'm super excited to now be a fully fledged drone pilot and see where things can go!"

Welcome to the Drone Team, Rob!
