Buxton Mountain Rescue Team Buxton Mountain Rescue is operated solely by volunteers, who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

Funded entirely by donations. £55,000 per year to remain operational. DIAL 999, ASK FOR THE POLICE AND THEN MOUNTAIN RESCUE Supporting the community since 1964: team of 55 operational members along with an active support team helping us to provide a search and rescue service in the remote areas of the Peak District, working alongside the Police and other emergency services. We are all volunteers, funded entirely by public donation and on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Each day we are privileged to have a slot in the Grand Ring at Chatsworth Country Fair.

Our mascot dog Bernard always manages to have a mishap when he’s in the Grand Ring. Whether it’s something he’s eaten, a medical episode, or he trips over his own feet, he usually ends up on the floor.

But fear not.. luckily our amazing volunteers are always there to rescue him, and get him out of the pickle he’s got himself into. Helped by our wonderful Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England team search dog Wren 🐾
