This is Liam, our Theatrical Advisor at Actcessible.

Liam has been such a big part of helping shape the theatre side of what we do, from auditions to performances, and making sure everything still feels fun, creative and full of heart.

We aim to spread joy and fun to all our venues as well as educating our audiences on tolerance and inclusion.

1 YEAR OF ACTCESSIBLE

A year ago today, the first ideas were formed that would become Actcessible.

Since then, we have become a charity, grown a team rooted in lived experience and disabled representation, built partnerships and strengthened community relationships.

We have performed in schools, hospitals, hospices, Deaf clubs and visually impaired groups, delivering inclusive theatre, workshops, imaginative play and drama sessions.

We have embedded access through BSL, Braille, touch tours and sensory-friendly practice, while building our online platform with accessible digital content and resources.

We have created games and learning resources, including Braille Racer and Dragon Tamer, and reached audiences across the UK and internationally.

By the end of 2026, we are estimated to have one-to-one interactions with 1,000 people face-to-face.

Actcessible was built from a simple belief: that inclusion, representation, education, laughter and joy should belong to everybody.

Thank you to every performer, volunteer, trustee, supporter, partner, donor, family and friend who has helped make this possible.

And this is only the beginning...

This Volunteers' Week, we want to say a huge thank you to every one of Actcessible's volunteers.

While many of their contributions happen behind the scenes, their impact is felt in everything we do. From supporting projects and developing resources to helping us reach more people and keeping things running smoothly, our volunteers give their time, skills, and dedication to help make Actcessible what it is today.

Without their commitment, passion, and willingness to go the extra mile, many of the opportunities, services, and achievements we celebrate simply would not be possible.
Every hour volunteered helps us move closer to our mission of creating a more accessible and inclusive world for disabled people.

To all of our volunteers: thank you for your hard work, your ideas, your support, and for believing in what we do. You are an essential part of the Actcessible family, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you contribute.
