Another one ticked off for our Mount Toubkal girls. 💪🏼

This weekend they took on Ben Nevis and smashed it.

It wasn’t easy, but they kept going, supported each other and got it done together. 🤍

Our women. Our journey. 🤍

So special to see this story travelling beyond Burton.

What started with creating safe, welcoming opportunities for women to step outdoors has grown into women taking on some of the biggest mountains in the UK and now preparing for Mount Toubkal.

This is what happens when women are given the space, support and community to keep saying yes to the next challenge.

Proud to see Burton Unity women inspiring far beyond our town. 🤍

A group of Muslim women from Burton-on-Trent is preparing to climb Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain, as the final major training challenge before tackling Mount Toubkal in Morocco in September to raise funds for Palestine through Human Appeal. Supported by Burton Unity, the sisters-only group has already climbed Snowdon. Among them is 17-year-old Eshaal Fiyyaz, who has surpassed her £1,500 fundraising target. For the women, the demanding climbs are a test of strength, solidarity and a way to support Palestinians.

Breaking stigma. Breaking barriers. And absolutely smashing it. ⚽️🔥

Women in their 60s, many in hijab, some who have never played football before — showing that sport has no age, no look and no one “type” of woman.

The competitiveness? Very real. 😂
The energy? Unmatched.
The message? We belong here too.

This is what happens when women are given the right space, the right encouragement and the freedom to just have a go. 💪🏼

The moment it was all worth it. 🏔️🤍

9+ hours. Tired legs. Emotional highs and lows. Moments of doubt. But they kept going.
And then… the summit.

Our Mount Toubkal 2026 team conquering Snowdon via the Watkins Path — one more mountain, one more lesson, one step closer to Toubkal. 💪🏼

Look at those faces. They did THAT. ❤️

These women are training for Mount Toubkal 2026… and every adventure is taking them one step closer. ⛰️💪🏼

Their latest challenge? Snowdon via the Watkin Path — over 9 hours of hiking, pushing through steep climbs, tired legs, changing emotions and those moments where the mind says enough but you keep going anyway.

It challenged them physically and emotionally, but they did it. Together. 🤍

Another mountain conquered. Another layer of confidence built.

Mount Toubkal, we’re coming for you. 🇲🇦⛰️

Making memories with Burton Unity.
We visited and both the children and adults had a fantastic day!

There was SO much to see and do, the children have recommended that we visit again!
