πŸ’” I honestly don't understand. Every time I look at Bruno, I ask myself the same question.

How is he still waiting? How is this sweet, affectionate, beautiful young dog being overlooked again and again? Because everyone who actually meets Bruno falls in love with him. His foster certainly did.

And yet month after month passes, while Bruno watches other dogs leave for their forever homes. Still waiting for somebody to finally choose him.

🐾 Meet Bruno

Bruno is around 15 months old, a large young boy with a huge heart, an even bigger love to give and enough affection to last a lifetime.

✨ Highlights ✨

β€’ SIZE: Large (62 cm / 27 kg)
β€’ NEUTERED: Yes
β€’ CHARACTER: Affectionate β€’ Clever β€’ Playful β€’ Loyal β€’ Eager to learn
β€’ DOGS: Friendly, playful, benefits from another medium-to-large female dog
β€’ CATS: Not suitable
β€’ CHILDREN: Dog-savvy children 10+
β€’ HOME LIFE: Loving family companion

πŸ’” Rescue Story

Bruno was born during the war near the frontline. His mother was rescued by soldiers from a destroyed village on the frontline in Ukraine. Bruno and his siblings were later evacuated to safety and raised in foster care surrounded by kindness, other dogs and people who cared about them.

He grew up loved. But somehow, despite everything he has to offer, he is still waiting for the family that is meant to be his own.

🐾 More About Bruno

Bruno is one of those dogs whose heart is always open. His foster says his favourite thing in the world is cuddling. In fact, if he thought he could get away with it, he would probably climb directly onto your shoulders and stay there forever.

He adores people. He adores affection. He adores being involved in family life.

At home he is calm, affectionate, housetrained and beautifully settled. He enjoys toys, learning new things and spending time with his humans.

He is incredibly intelligent and loves training. Give him a treat, a game or a challenge and you can almost see his brain working.

But Bruno is also still young. Like many young dogs, he needs guidance, structure and somebody willing to continue showing him the world at a pace he can process.

His foster describes him as an amazing, sweet, goofy young lad who simply needs someone confident enough to help him grow into the dog he is already becoming.

And every day he gets better. Every day he learns. Every day he tries his hardest. His foster says:

"I will miss him so much when he goes. I've loved having him." Honestly, that says everything.

🏑 Ideal Home

Bruno is looking for people who won't just own a dog. He is looking for people who want a best friend.

An active family who loves countryside walks, adventures, training, games and including their dog in everyday life.

A home with another friendly, playful medium-to-large female dog would help him enormously and bring out the very best in him.

Bruno needs a confident but kind handler. For most of his life, Bruno lived in very rural environments, so he had little exposure to busy roads, heavy traffic, crowds of people, running children, bicycles, scooters and other aspects of modern urban life.

Because of this, he can still feel unsure around some strangers when out on walks. His future owner should be physically capable of handling a large dog and willing to continue using positive confidence-building and desensitisation games to help him navigate the world.

This does not come from aggression. It comes from uncertainty and lack of previous experience. Like all dogs, Bruno can sometimes view unfamiliar things with caution. It is a natural survival instinct β€” if something is unknown, it may potentially be a threat.

The wonderful thing is that Bruno is incredibly intelligent, eager to learn and responds beautifully to guidance. With a little time, consistency and a lot of heart, his confidence continues to grow. Rescue will be happy to provide ongoing support and access to professional behavioural guidance to help Bruno and his future family succeed together.

Most importantly, he needs people who can see beyond the fact that he isn't a tiny fluffy puppy anymore and appreciate what he truly is:

A wonderful young dog with his whole life ahead of him.

πŸ’ž Bruno doesn't need saving. He doesn't need fixing. He simply needs somebody to finally see him. To meet him. To spend ten minutes with him. Because once people do, they always discover the same thing: Bruno is impossible not to love.
And somewhere out there is the family who will wonder how they ever lived without him. ❀️

❀️🐢 MARY – SHE IS PERFECT WITH HER PEOPLE… BUT STILL UNCERTAIN ABOUT THE WORLD 🐢❀️
πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸΎ UK BASED – LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME 🏠
πŸ“ Currently located: Lichfield WS13
🌟 Reduced adoption fees β€’ RBU, post-adoption support & 4 weeks free PetPlan insurance provided upon adoption (on request) 🌟

πŸ’” Mary thought she had finally found her forever home.
She was rehomed in Autumn 2025, first as a foster placement… but her family completely fell in love with her and decided to adopt.
And truly β€” with her people β€” she has been wonderful.

But despite all the love it became clear that Mary is struggling more and more with the busy outside world and unfamiliar people. Her family are heartbroken, but they know she needs someone who can give her the calm, structured environment she needs to truly feel safe.

This is what her family says:
β€œMary has been a wonderful dog and we've really bonded. When it is just the two of us or with my wife and daughter, she's perfect. We've been able to train her to walk perfectly, she listens and never pulls, she never has accidents in the house, is fine around our cats and is fantastic with my daughter. She really just wants to chill out and cuddle or run around the garden.
What she struggles with is being around people that aren't us, both in our house and out on walks.
If someone can help her with this, she will be a perfect companion for their family, but our current situation at home doesn't allow us to give her the space that she needs. I'm heartbroken to have to find her somewhere else to go, but it is the only thing that is fair for her and my family.”

🐾 Meet Mary
Mary is around 5-6 years old, medium-sized, gentle, affectionate and deeply devoted to the people she trusts. She is one of those dogs who forms very close emotional bonds and simply wants to feel safe near her humans.

✨ Highlights ✨
β€’ SIZE: Medium (52-53 cm / 18 kg)
β€’ SPAYED: Yes
β€’ CHARACTER: Affectionate β€’ Sensitive β€’ Calm at home β€’ Loyal β€’ Wary of strangers
β€’ DOGS: Friendly with dogs
β€’ CATS: Good with cats
β€’ CHILDREN: Best in calm, older dog-savvy home
β€’ HOUSETRAINED: Yes

πŸ’” Rescue Story
Mary originally lost her home when her family had to leave the UK and were unable to take her with them. She was then rehomed, and for months everything seemed hopeful.
Her family truly bonded with her and wanted desperately to make it work. But over time, it became clear that Mary’s fear and insecurity around unfamiliar people was deeper than first understood.

🐾 More About Mary
Mary is not an β€œeverybody’s dog.” She looks steady, but has tender sensitive soul who needs predictability and trust.

At home with her people, she is calm, affectionate and beautifully behaved. She loves cuddles, enjoys being close, settles well indoors and has lovely house manners. She walks beautifully on the lead and has made huge progress compared to when she first arrived.

But unfamiliar people still overwhelm her. Visitors, strangers approaching, busy environments or unpredictable interactions can trigger fear responses, including growling or snapping when she feels unsafe. This does not come from malice. It comes from insecurity and fear.

Her family have made this decision not because they don’t love her β€” but because they do. They know she deserves someone who can help her better than they can in their current situation.

🏑 Ideal Home
Mary needs a dog-savvy not busy home with minimal visitors and very predictable routines.

A quiet location away from busy roads and crowds would suit her best, with a secure garden where she can relax and decompress safely.

She needs patient, emotionally steady people who understand sensitive dogs and are happy to move slowly, respect boundaries and continue confidence-building work without pressure.

She can happily live with cats and potentially another calm dog.

πŸ’ž Mary is not a bad dog.
She is a sensitive dog trying very hard to feel safe in a world that overwhelms her.
With the right person β€” someone patient and kindβ€” she will be the most loyal, loving companion imaginable. ❀️

🩺 Health Information
Mary is healthy, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

They feel like a brother and sister from a fairy tale β€” like Kai and Gerda from the Snow Queen β€” bound by loyalty, supporting each other through everything, and still open-hearted to the world around them.

Adopting them together has many wonderful advantages. They will settle much faster in a new home, unlikely to struggle with separation anxiety, entertain each other when people are busy and sleep peacefully at night knowing their best friend is nearby. They will only bring peace and happiness in their new home. Double love, double joy. When adopted together rescue happy to do individual adoption fee payment plan.

🌟 Highlights

β€’ SIZE:
– Kai: Lower-medium (below the knee) (48 cm / 17 kg)
– Gerda: Lower-medium (below the knee) (44 cm / 15 kg)
β€’ NEUTERED/SPAYED: Yes (both)
β€’ CHARACTER: Gentle β€’ Calm β€’ Thoughtful β€’ Loyal β€’ Undemanding
β€’ DOGS: Friendly
β€’ CATS: Unknown
β€’ CHILDREN: Good with gentle children

πŸ’” Rescue Story

Kai and Gerda were abandoned together in a small rural town in Western Ukraine, sadly famous for animal cruelty, a place where dogs are rarely safe.

There were three of them. Another young white boy with blue eyes didn’t survive. He was found killed. Kai lost his eye. But Kai and Gerda stayed together. Through everything. And they still are.

🐾 More About Them

They live in a small private shelter now, but walk beautifully on the lead and are very easy to handle.

They approach people gently β€” not pushing, not demanding β€” but always hoping to be called closer. They don’t impose themselves, but you can feel how much they want to be near.

They are calm and well balanced by nature, thoughtful, and incredibly well-mannered. They listen, they understand, they don’t create noise or chaos.

There is something very special about them β€” a quiet dignity, a softness, and a deep emotional connection not only to each other, but also to people.

Kai, despite losing one eye, lives fully and confidently β€” it does not limit him in any way.

🏑 Ideal Home

Separation is not an option for them and they are looking for home together, where there will be place and love for both.
They would suit a calm, loving home where their gentle nature will be appreciated.

A house with a garden, a peaceful rural or semi-rural environment, and people who value quiet companionship.

πŸ’ž Kai & Gerda are not just two dogs β€” they are a story of survival, loyalty, and connection. The kind you don’t often see. Whoever opens their home to them will receive something truly rare.

🩺 Health Information

Both are fully healthy, neutered/spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Kai has lost one eye due to past trauma, but this does not affect his quality of life.
All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (licensed laboratory certificate provided).
