Broughton Mills, Woodland & Foxfield Women's Institute We are a friendly and active WI based in the beautiful SW Lake District Visitors are always welcome.

Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Reading Room (Broughton Mills), Parish Room (Woodland) or The Rankin Room at the Victory Hall (Broughton-in-Furness).

Don't forget that it's our walk tomorrow …a wee jaunt behind Coniston and out towards Yewdale Farm.

Please meet 10am, on the road behind the Bluebird Museum.

Hoping to be back at Herdwicks for coffee 11:30 - 12 noon.

Thank you to Stephe Cove, who kindly stepped in at the last minute, to give a fascinating talk about shard fencing or should I say slate d***s?!

I think we all learnt a great deal about these beautiful boundaries, that we see all around our county and beyond.

If you would like to join the walk today, Monday, meet in Broughton Square 9:30am or if you don't fancy a walk tomorrow but would like to meet for a coffee or lunch then the walkers will be at The Beach Cafe, Bardsea 12 noon.

Our speaker is Nigel Rowe and his topic is 'Cycling Patagonia'.

The competition is 'a treasured postcard'.

A quick reminder of our charity walk and soup lunch. This Saturday 11th April.

If you're providing soup and or baking there'll be someone at the Reading Room, Broughton Mills, from 9.30am to receive. Same goes for anyone helping setup...9:30am.

The walk will leave the Reading Room at 10:30am and take approximately 2 hours.
