Today's People's Art Club is all about getting work ready for the upcoming People's Art Fair!
We've got our an array of art materials out, so people without the space or resources at home can finish off their work.
We're keen to help people without digital skills or access get involved too, so is helping people with filling out the registration forms to submit their work.
The deadline for submissions is the 19th October, so come get involved!

Registration for the next People's Art Fair are open! If you've been involved before, or have signed up, don't you'd like to exhibit, you should have already received an email, with links to let us know details of the work you'll bring along, and which days you can help set up and look after the show. (We have chronic problems being labelled as spam, just because we don't use a mainstream email server, so if you've not seen it check your junk folder and maybe add: projects .org.uk (without the space) to your contacts list. )

Ignore the April date in the email- other than that it's all correct, and ready to go!

It's not too late to get involved either. If you look for the People's Art Fair on our website there's a place to give us your email, and we'll send you out the registration email. We've regularly had around 80 local artists and up to 300 artworks (not counting the prints, cards, stickers, jewellery etc), ranging from the work of Bristol legends to first time exhibitors. It really is an art fair for all the people.

It looks like we've a new publication in stock! Always happy to see another independent source of news, especially something local- hello Gobsh*te!
Available via the The Bristol Cable stand outside or venue.
We also distribute the awesome DOPE Magazine to vendors who sell it all around Bristol, have on stock the last ever issue of The Land magazine, and have some other free reads in the radical bookshop in our Stokes Croft China shop.

Screening TONIGHT at PRSC Space... BLACK SNAKE KILLAZ - a feature-length documentary film about the resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline. This film explores actions taken by water protectors to stop the construction of the oil pipeline and highlights actions taken by law enforcement, military, and corporate mercenaries to quell the months-long protest. Black Snake Killaz timelines the historical events that unfolded in Standing Rock throughout 2016 and brings you the raw experience from many frontline actions to protect the water.

Although the Dakota Access Pipeline is completed, the impact of the movement will be long-lasting. As fossil fuel extraction projects continue to impact some of the most vulnerable communities throughout the United States of America, the importance of the water protectors story grows.

Setting up for a quick pop-up exhibition in the PRSC Space, open Sat 26th September from 11-4.

Open Studios weekend, stick around a bit longer to see the PRSC's!
As well as the work up in the Space, two of our art studio tenants Lisa Travers: Contemporary Collage Artist & Alice Wickham will have thAlice Wickhamn too, so you can have a look at the spaces they work in.
Downstairs there's some work out of our screen print studio, has Ursa the Bear, and will be printing new mini-bears, object... has t-shirts andobject...lso made in the PRSC print room, and Alice may put up some bigger pieces too. And Stokes Croft China will beStokes Croft China tile decorating workshop!
Oh, and if you're not this end of town, we'll be magically running a stall at the M32fleamarket as well!M32fleamarket

We long had a library of architectural books, inherited from one of the PRSC's founders, Chris Carley.

It's been in boxes whilst we tried to find a new home for the whole collection, but that never came to anything, and books are meant to be read! There's some beautiful books here, some obscure, some excellent reference books, and they're now available for donations from our shop in Stokes Croft.
