This Saturday 🙂
Come volunteer - chance to do maybe something totally different from the working week, plus meet new people and have a brew and cake at the visitor centre after ☕️🧁

Cromwell Bottom Community Day Saturday 10th October

Meet at the community cabin in the compound at 9.30am for a variety of activities. Hoping to carry out some reed management in the lagoon on this day (TBC).

 Wear suitable clothes and sturdy footwear.
 Bring a lunch or snacks.
 Session ends around 2pm.

The nature reserve is located just off the Brighouse to Elland road, A6025. When travelling in either direction you will see a brown tourist information sign. Turn onto Cromwell Drive, just at the side of Oils Well and a red brick building. There is also a blue car park sign leading you to the car park, an opening to the left of the lane.

Calderdale has a long history of flooding. Its steep-sided valleys and many watercourses mean that heavy rainfall can quickly cause rivers and water levels to rise, making it important for residents and businesses to understand their local flood risk and know how to prepare.

This month, we're supporting the national campaign, which encourages people to build resilience by understanding local risks and taking simple steps to prepare for emergencies. This week's theme is "Know Your Risk” and today focuses on being Flood Aware.
