Brighouse Ladies Circle is open to women aged 18-45 (after which ladies can join our sister club Tangent) who are looking to broaden their social life with some fundraising along the way - we meet twice a month and enjoy plenty of nights out, social events and have been known to sink a w**e or two! We are always looking for new members so please don't hesitate to contact us, we would love to get to know you! Why join Brighouse Ladies Circle? Here is what our Chairlady Alison has to say about our group….

“I moved to the area in 2017 and remember spotting Brighouse Ladies Circle back then, but I never quite took the plunge. Fast forward to 2020 and lockdown life had left me with very few local friends beyond the mums I'd chatted to at children's birthday parties.

Then, by a stroke of good fortune, Circle appeared on my radar again. I joined a few online meetings and those fortnightly catch-ups quickly became a highlight of my week. They brought friendship, laughter and connection at a time when we all needed it most.

Since then, Circle has become such an important part of my life. The social events regularly push me out of my comfort zone and have encouraged me to try things I'd never have done otherwise. The fundraising gives me the chance to give something back to the local community, which is incredibly rewarding and great for my wellbeing too.

But above all else, it's the friendships and the laughter that keep me coming back. I genuinely wouldn't be without my Circle friends, and joining Brighouse Ladies Circle is one of the best decisions I've made.”

IT'S BACK!

We're delighted to say that our annual kids and critters adventure day is back this summer! A fun activity day at our local Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve to keep the kids entertained over the summer break, that won't break the bank!

Date: Tuesday 28th July 2026

There are two meet up options:
For those who would like to walk to the reserve, you can meet the Brighouse Ladies Circle walking crew on the canal path in Brighouse, near the back entrance to Mamil bar/Kwik Fit car park at 12pm.

Or if you prefer, you can head straight to Cromwell Bottom and meet up at 1pm. Then we'll have lunch in the field, please bring a picnic and blanket along. The visitor centre will be open later on for refreshments and ice creams - pay by donation only 🙂

We'll spend the afternoon enjoying various activities, with the help of the fantastic Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group.

The price is £5 per child, then £3 for siblings. Kids and Critters adventure days are charity events, and the proceeds will go to Focus4Hope.

This month’s Ladies Circle Spotlight is… Hayley 🙂

I joined Brighouse Ladies' Circle, I was 30, single, and had recently moved up from the south. Apart from my colleagues at work, I didn't really know anyone locally. I was looking for friendship, a sense of belonging, and the chance to meet like-minded women. After spotting an advert on social media for a new members' evening, I decided to give it a go—and I'm so glad I did.

Ten years later, Circle has given me so much more than I ever expected. I've taken on almost every role, including Chair in 2018/19, when we proudly fundraised for a lagoon viewing platform at Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve. That experience sparked a real passion for the reserve, and today I'm proud to be one of its trustees.

What I love most about Circle is the friendships and the opportunity to give back to our local community. From fundraising to our annual Santa Float, it's such a rewarding way to feel connected to the place you call home. Through Circle, I've also gone on to volunteer with Incredible Edible, Rastrick Beavers, Brighouse Cinema and Brighouse Art Week.

Fast forward to today—I'm 41, have an amazing partner and two wonderful children, and I'm lucky enough to have a group of friends I know will be there for life.
If you're new to the area, looking to make friends, or simply want to get more involved in your community, I'd wholeheartedly recommend giving Brighouse Ladies' Circle a try. Walking through those doors 10 years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made.
