🌟 Celebrating Steph – 5 Years of Dedication 🌟

Today we are celebrating an incredible milestone – Steph’s 5th year with us! 💙

Steph first joined us as a volunteer many years ago before returning to become a valued and much-loved member of our team. Working 3–4 days a week, she plays a vital role both on the till and behind the scenes, always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Over the years, Steph has achieved her Level 1 and Level 2 Lead Volunteer qualifications, and her knowledge, reliability, and commitment mean she can confidently run the shop when cover is needed. Her dedication to supporting our charity and the work we do has made a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she contributes.

But Steph brings so much more than hard work and experience. She keeps us fuelled with her amazing cups of tea, brightens every shift with her sense of humour, and keeps us laughing with her weird and wonderful vocabulary. Whether she’s sharing a story, creating a brand-new word that none of us have ever heard before, or having a bit of banter with the team, Steph brings warmth, positivity, and joy wherever she goes.

Steph is truly a valued member of our charity family. Her kindness, dedication, and unique personality make our workplace a better place to be, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our team.

Thank you, Steph, for your five years of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and support. Here’s to many more cups of tea, plenty more banter, and lots more of those unforgettable Steph-isms! Congratulations on this wonderful milestone. 🎉💙👏

Meet Simon 💙

Simon has been volunteering with us for an incredible 1 year and 7 months, and does 5 days a week and during that time he has become such an important part of our charity family.

His dedication and commitment have seen him successfully complete both his Lead Volunteer Level 1 and Level 2 training, meaning he is now trusted to run our shop independently when we’re not there. This is a huge achievement and reflects just how reliable, capable, and hardworking he is.

But Simon brings so much more than his skills and training. He brings laughter, positivity, and endless support to our team. Whether it’s his banter, cheeky sarcasm, jokes, or warm smile, Simon brightens every shift and makes our shop a happier place to be.

One of the things we admire most about Simon is his eagerness to learn. He is always asking questions, always looking to develop his skills, and always wanting to take on new challenges. His enthusiasm and willingness to grow are truly inspiring.

The impact Simon has on our charity goes far beyond the hours he gives. Through his hard work, dedication, and kindness, he helps us continue supporting the people and causes that matter most. We honestly couldn’t imagine the team without him.

Today, As It is volunteers week,
I want to take a moment to recognize something truly special: our volunteers.

It is often said that people are the heart of an organization, and nowhere is that more true than here. Every hour you give, every task you take on, every smile you share, and every challenge you help us overcome makes a difference that cannot be measured simply in numbers.

Volunteering is a gift. You give your time, your energy, your skills, and your compassion—not because you have to, but because you choose to. That choice means more to us than words can adequately express.

What makes our volunteer team so remarkable is that we are more than a group of individuals working toward a common goal. We have become a family. A family that supports one another, encourages one another, and celebrates each other’s successes. We stand together during busy times, we help each other through challenges, and we grow stronger because of the bonds we have built.

Every new volunteer who joins us adds another branch to our family tree. Every experience we share together helps our roots grow deeper. We learn from one another, we inspire one another, and together we continue to build something meaningful and lasting.
