Myth Busting Monday

Myth: People only use food banks and community pantries because they have managed their money badly.

Facts: Most people who need emergency food support are facing circumstances beyond their control, including low wages, rising living costs, illness, disability, relationship breakdown, delays to benefits, or unexpected financial shocks.

Many people seeking support are working, caring for family members, or dealing with complex challenges while trying to make ends meet.

Food poverty is not about poor choices. It is about not having enough income to cover the essentials.

Everyone deserves dignity, understanding and support.
