Good morning everyone. We are sharing some photos of our recent ‘Hands on with Flowers’ evening held on the 19th May. The title of the event was ‘Natures Beauty working with
Different Textures’ and this was shown with the different containers that were used from Baskets to Garden Boxes and even a Wood Slice. The same was evident with the flowers used, with flowers bought or lovely roses from peoples gardens one being called Hanky Panky. Hopefully you will be suitable impressed with the completed arrangements and decide to join us next time.

Good morning everyone. Don’t forget when you are planning your week ahead that Tuesday Evening is our Demonstration Evening with Louise Brown. This title of this years event is
‘Scuba Diving with Flowers’, last years
was ‘Elizabeth Taylor’s Jewellery’ and Louise did not disappoint us with her knowledge and flower arrangements
that represented the Jewellery. So this should prove to be an evening not to be missed and we hope you are able to make it.

On Tuesday Evening of last week Bridgwater Flower Club held its first Demonstration Event of the year and it was good to see both familiar and new faces attending.

Our NAFAS Demonstrator was Cathryn
Brown who entertained us with her Demonstration entitled ‘A Flower Prescription’. Cathryn chatted away giving us facts about ways to keep healthy plus information about the foliage and flowers she was using. The displays themselves were amazing with fantastic flowers, Roses, Gerberas and Orchids to name a few. During the last display Cathryn talked about her love of walking relating it to walking along the Nevadas in Madeira her prominent flowers being Bird of Paradise which she said grew like weeds there. The audience responded with positive appreciation at the site of them. Thanks go to Carole Edmunds for sending the photo of Cathryn to our page. As Cathryn has other Demonstrations booked at the moment on the same theme, photos of other arrangements will be available at a later date so we don’t spoil the surprise for others.

It was lovely to see the smiling faces of people leaving with an arrangement they had won in the raffle.

Well the sun is now shining and the spring flowers raise their heads in anticipation for the days to come. The Easter Egg hunts have taken place and lots of chocolate has been eaten.

Bridgwater Flower Club like the spring flowers is looking forward, especially, as our first demonstration of the year will be taking place on Tuesday 14th April. The demonstration is entitled
‘A Flower Prescription’ and will be presented by Cathryn Brown. Doors open at 7.00 , there will be a raffle for flower arrangements and refreshments of tea, coffee and cake. Entrance fee of £7.50 for visitors. We do hope you are able to join us.

A very big Thank you to those Bridgwater Flower Club members who attended our A.G.M. on Tuesday evening. It gave those present the opportunity to gain information on the planned activities for the year, the financial situation for the club and a chance to have their say on any matters arising.

After the business side of the meeting there was a chance for Coffee and Tea and Joan’s delicious cakes, followed by a very interesting talk by Lynne on her Embroidery journey. The meeting ended with a raffle.

The photos of Lynnes works of art unfortunately don’t do it the justice it deserves.

Good morning to all Bridgwater Flower Club followers. Well the continuous rain appears to have come to an end and we have recently been blessed with some sunny days. The daffodils are displaying their proud yellow heads and the lawns are expecting their first cut of the year. So what better time for Bridgwater Flower Club to start its first event of the year our A.G.M.. We know this isn’t a popular event but it is a very important one for the club. This is a chance to find out what is planned for the year ahead and have the opportunity to give your opinion on any matters arising.

We do hope you are able to attend. You will certainly be given a warm welcome and there will be tea or coffee and Joan’s delicious cakes as a reward.
