Ross ‘Twiggy’ Wensley has confirmed that after a visit to The Pilton Hilton, they have deduced he has a badly dislocated elbow and will be in a cast for three weeks.
This on Twiggy’s 391 appearance for the club.

Here is a little message from Twiggs…

“Home now and in a cast for 3 weeks.
I'd like to thank everyone at Braunton FC for their help, concern and warm wishes.
And also to the Referee and the very nice chap from Sandymere Blues for their assistance.
Thanks aswell to the A&E staff who dealt with everything very efficiently.
Thankfully Osca wasn't working tonight!”

Well. What a day. A very hard day in the office, the game started on a beautiful Lobb pitch. For the first 30 minutes both teams seemed rather even, both teams made some great attacking chances with both teams defences standing strong.

Before the game, Frisco and I had a team brief, as we had a lot to work on from Wednesdays draw. Chats were had, no back chat to the ref, keep it on the deck and let's use the pace on the wings, I probably sound like a broken record at this point.

Well I digress, on the 43rd minute, Solly was bought down on the halfway line, I believe he muttered words such as, "fantastic call to not call that a foul ref, I was definitely not chopped down from behind, well played kind sir" or so I heard? The ref heard different and sent our well disciplined man off for 10 minutes.

Within 30 seconds, Daniel Parkhouse was brought down in the box, the ref stood strong and did not get give a penalty, Parkhouse, rightly questioned this and was heard quoting to the ref
" good man i beg your finest pardon. That was quite blatantly a slight on my behind, this should be a penalty i say" well, the ref didn't like his tone for some reason? Parkhouse was off 10 minutes as well.

Understandably Frisco and I were not pleased, we had to pull the lads together, told them to stay tight, nothing silly, bit of game management and we'll be fine, well before I knew it. We were 3 down, the first goal a worldy, I dont remember the others as my heads were in the cloud.

In the 60th minute we managed to bring one back with Mr. Parkhouse, a little redemption. We made subs and pushed till the last whistle, Morwenstow scored another goal to put the nail in the coffin.

A very disappointing result, we look to bounce back next saturday in our cup game
