June is Men's Mental Health Month.
In the Armed Forces, we're trained to be resilient, dependable and mission-focused. We learn to push through discomfort, carry heavy loads and keep moving forward when things get tough.
But sometimes the heaviest battles happen away from the battlefield.
At Op Hearth, our team includes serving personnel, veterans and military family members who have lived experience of the Armed Forces mental health system. We've sat in sickbay appointments. We've spoken to welfare teams. We've struggled with our own mental health. We understand how difficult it can be to admit that you're not coping.
If you're struggling right now, please remember this:
It's okay to not be okay.
Talking is not weakness. Asking for help is not failure. Reaching out is often the bravest step a person can take.
Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, deployment pressures or simply feeling overwhelmed, support is available.
You do not have to carry it alone.
The first conversation can be the hardest, but it could also be the most important.
