Project Update- 21 Affordable Social Rental Properties- Beach Road- Woolacombe

6 x 1 Bedroom (2 persons)

11 x 2 Bedroom (4 persons)

4 x 3 Bedroom (6 persons)

It has been a long time coming but things are now about to move forwards. We should see a start on site in mid/end February. This will be for the site preparations & groundworks before the main build commences

This will mean that there will be an increase in traffic on South Street going up to the meadow whilst these groundworks are taking place.

These works also include the construction of the main site entrance on Beach Road. Once this entrance is completed then this will be the main access point to the site for traffic.

Woolacombe School has already been consulted & vehicle movements will be minimised during School drop off & pick up times.

We will provide regular updates as things progress.

Woolacombe and Mortehoe Affordable Housing
Project Update

We wanted to provide an update on the Woolacombe development of 21 new social rent homes.

Planning permission was granted in October 2024 and since then, we have continued to work with Aster Group and North Devon Council, who have both contributed funding, to progress the plans.

The development, which will be adjacent to Woolacombe Village Hall on Beach Road, will be owned by us and managed by Aster, remaining as social rent housing indefinitely and let to those with a local connection to the parish in the first instance. We are hopeful that we should be able to provide another update soon, with an idea of when we are likely to see progress on the ground, which is targeted for early new year - please get in touch with us direct if you have any questions in the meantime.
