A learning disability does not fluctuate or go away. It’s a lifelong condition.
Jacob is a 29 year old man with Down syndrome. His whole life, he has relied on the full time care from his mum Tracey to support him in all areas of his daily life.
Tracey has to repeatedly go though stressful Personal Independence Payments (PIP) processes, to help cover the unavoidable costs that come with having a learning disability.
On average, 798 people with a learning disability undergo PIP reassessment every month. Why are we repeatedly asked to prove something that cannot, and will not, ever change?
