🥋🔥 Another WOW Weekend for the Dorset Taekwondo Poomsae Team! 🔥🥋

This weekend, our team took on the nation’s very best at the British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships in Nottingham. Over two days and with nearly 900 competitors, it was one of the biggest events of the year... and our Dorset team certainly made its mark! 💪

🏆 Day 1 - Dan (Black Belt) Divisions
Our athletes delivered yet another set of incredible performances, achieving everything from personal bests to double 🥇🥇 Gold Medal winners!
And while writing this post, we realised just how well the team had performed... our small Dorset squad finished an amazing 5th out of 45 teams, narrowly missing out on a team trophy! 🤏🏆

🥋 Day 2 - Kup (Colour Belt) & Para Divisions
The momentum continued as Team DTA stepped onto the mats in some huge divisions, with 30+ competitors in many categories. Once again, our athletes rose to the challenge, producing fantastic performances and helping the team secure 11th place out of 63 teams. 💥👏

❤️ There are simply too many stories to tell from this weekend, but the photos, medals, smiles and celebrations say it all.
From:
🚗 5+ hour journeys
🌅 Early starts
🤝 New pairings
⏳ Long waits
💺 Uncomfortable seating

To:
😄 Smiles and laughter
👥 New friendships
🥋 Strong performances
🏅 Medal-winning success
💙 Unforgettable memories

The results are fantastic, but what makes us most proud is the way everyone pulled together as a team. Every competitor, coach, parent and supporter played their part in making this another special weekend for Dorset Taekwondo Association .

🙏 Thank you to everyone who represented DTA so brilliantly.
One team. One spirit. One unforgettable weekend.

What a day for DTA at the Tigers Taekwondo competition in Southampton!

From competitors stepping onto the mats for the very first time to our more experienced athletes, every single player represented the club brilliantly, showing determination, courage and a real desire to improve.

16 players, 17 medals!! 🏅🥋

The medals are a fantastic achievement, but what stood out most was the progress made across the whole team. Every match and every pattern was an opportunity to learn, grow and gain valuable experience, and it was fantastic to see that hard work paying off.

What makes DTA special is the community we’ve built together. Throughout the day, our players encouraged one another, celebrated each other’s successes and showed what it means to be part of a supportive club. The team spirit on display was every bit as impressive as the results.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who represented DTA today. As it turns out, we even won a team trophy 🏆 too... unfortunately, it was awarded to us after we’d all left! 😅

Days like today show that regular training, commitment and supporting each other really do make a difference. The progress this team continues to make is amazing to see, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for every one of them. 💙👊

🥋 DTA at the British Taekwondo National Championships!
A small but mighty team headed to Manchester — with 5 of our 9 players experiencing their first ever Nationals. Huge learning, huge heart, and a brilliant test of all their hard work. 🌟

Massive respect to Markus, Lucy, Aidan, Oli, Mehdi and Josh for their hard‑fought battles and majority QF finishes. Big improvements across the board and plenty to build on. 🎖️

Medal shoutouts!
🥇 Greyson — NATIONAL CHAMPION! A phenomenal performance and a well‑earned gold at his first Nationals.
🥉🥈 Danesh — bronze after tough matches, narrowly missing his final, plus stepping up two weight categories in para to secure silver. Incredible commitment.
🥈 Sean — silver after a straight final and a tough match. Lots learnt and lots to be proud of.

Huge thanks to South Hams Taekwondo, Dave Desforges and Katie Bradley for coaching and supporting our team all weekend. 💪💙

🥋 NATIONALS!
Massive well done to the 9 DTA members who stepped onto the mats in Manchester for this year’s British Taekwondo National Championships.

With nearly 1,000 fighters across two days, it was a seriously tough challenge — and our team rose to it.

More photos and results coming soon… but for now a HUGE shout‑out to Greyson, who battled through some hard‑fought matches to take GOLD 🥇 and become a NATIONAL CHAMPION 🎉
