OH YAY! OH YAY! TODAY'S THE DAY!
The Whitehill & Bordon Carnival arrives in town!
Here are the timings, for up to the minute news, Tune in to Kane FM 103.7 or head to kanefm.com/listen for chat, music and on-the-spot commentary!
Please note: timings may vary, but the fun never stops!
2.00 pm – The Phoenix Theatre opens for pre-drinks, parking for floats and general assembly of Carnival participants.
They have kindly agreed that people can use their car park as a meeting point. Please note that parking for large vehicles and vehicles with trailers is limited.
3.00 pm – The Community Station opens for getting ready and as a meeting point for the Carnival team.
3.30 pm – A safety briefing for all participants is given at the Community Station.
4.00 pm – The road closes, and parade vehicles move into place.
**PLEASE NOTE:** Large vehicles and vehicles with trailers must not approach the Carnival procession site until the road closure is in place at 4.00 pm.
4.15 pm – The coronation of Hollie the Carnival Princess and Emmie our Carnival Queen
To see this and for photos head to the front of the parade, just up from the Community Station.
4.30 pm – The Town Crier calls the parade to order and gets things moving! We move off with the Sacred Heart Pipe Band leading the parade!
6.30 pm – The parade ends at the Woolmer Trading Estate, allowing large vehicles to park and, of course, giving us the opportunity to present the trophies for the best floats!
7.00 pm – The Carnival ends, but the fun continues with live music at The Shed.
The weather seems to be on our side! It's looking bright but cold, so wrap up warm – "layers", as yer mum would say!
Hopefully, you'll stay warm with all the waving, cheering, singing along and generally enjoying the Carnival.
Please pick up any rubbish and put it in a bin, or take it home. Let's be kind to our town and leave it cleaner than when we started!
See you there later!
**HUZZAH!**
