**More Than Just a Stage**

At Dare2Shine, we believe that the lessons learned on stage extend far beyond the spotlight. Yes, we teach young people how to sing, dance, and act – but we also teach them life skills that are essential for success in any area. Resilience, teamwork, communication, discipline – these are the skills that will serve them for years to come, whether they’re performing on Broadway or leading a team in a corporate setting.

We want our students to understand that their worth is not just tied to their performance but also to the effort, determination, and heart they put into everything they do. When they work together to put on a show, they learn how to collaborate, how to support one another, and how to communicate effectively – all crucial skills in any career or life situation. At Dare2Shine, we’re not just shaping performers – we’re shaping well-rounded, confident young people who are ready to tackle whatever life throws their way.

I know, I know, we've been pretty quiet on here the past two weeks since our AWESOME Wicked Workshop!

That's because it's ALL been going on behind the scenes!!!

Here's a little insight into what's been going down!!

*We've put forward 4 grant applications to ask for funding to be able to provide courage and resiliency coaching (through the performing arts) at local Junior and Senior schools.

*We've onboarded a fabulous new 121 singing teacher due to start with us at the end of January 2025! Initially, she will have limited availability so please reach out if you are interested in a special spot!!

*AND I have a meeting tonight with a fabulous dance teacher in training too!

Alongside this fun stuff... we've been:

*Building our website and creating payment plans
*Updating our policies
*Getting our team updated safeguarding certifications and SO MUCH MORE

After much deliberation and many requests, we have also made an important decision to open up our Musical Theatre classes to younger and older students - we now cater for 8-18 years!

**Calling all deadline dancers**

It's less than 2 days until our Wicked Workshop, so if you've been sitting on the fence, this is your reminder to leap!

This workshop is for 11-16 year olds interested in singing, dancing and acting!

**Finding Strength in Vulnerability**

One of the most powerful aspects of performing arts is the ability to be vulnerable.

Stepping onto a stage and sharing your emotions, your fears, and your dreams with an audience requires immense courage. At Dare2Shine, we create a space where young people can embrace that vulnerability and, in doing so, find their inner strength.

Both myself (Lorraine) and Olivia know firsthand how transformative this experience can be.

Performing arts allows young people to step outside their comfort zones, face their fears, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had.

We’re here to support them every step of the way, helping them understand that vulnerability is not a weakness – it’s a source of strength. At Dare2Shine, we help young people find their voice, embrace their emotions, and shine from the inside out.

With the arrival of our first batch of team merch 🙌🤩 we just couldn't help ourselves but get a little pic of us looking cool 😂🤭 as we get started!

I am honestly so deeply grateful for EVERYONE who has already supported us in getting started, those who have offered their expertise for our upcoming Wicked Musical Theatre Workshop, those who have volunteered to leaflet drop, to put posters up in the community and in schools and those who have volunteered but don't know what they've got themselves into yet 😂🤭🙌

One of the things I have missed THE MOST since I started my second biz (I'm a coach alongside building Dare2Shine), was being part of a team and I KNEW that not only could I not build this business on my own, quite honestly I didn't want to.

If you're reading this now I would also like to say thank you to you... For following us, for supporting us and for being our customers - you rock!
