A huge thank you to Visiting Angels Fylde Coast 💙

Earlier this month, we shared photos from the fantastic sponsored walk organised by the team at Visiting Angels on 10 October.
We're delighted to let you know that they raised an amazing £565.18 for Blackpool Carers Centre! 🎉

Pictured is Terry presenting their Certificate of Thanks in recognition of their support and fundraising efforts.

Visiting Angels provide vital care and support to people in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence while receiving the care they need. It's wonderful to see a business that not only cares for people through its day-to-day work but also chooses to give back to the wider community.

They are a fantastic example of a company embracing our Caring Corporate programme and making a difference to local unpaid carers and their families.

Thank you to everyone who took part, donated and supported the walk. Your generosity will help us continue supporting carers across Blackpool.

What a pleasure it was to welcome Jean, Carole and Diane who are part of The Tilehurst Community Crafters, all the way from READING! 🥰

Their craft group regularly knit Rocco/Roccolina outfits and post them to us so we can keep our Reception and local hotels fully stocked!

They decided to visit sunny(!) Blackpool this weekend and us, to see where their wonderful knitting sales help support. They had the grand tour and learned all about the work we do to support local unpaid carers. 🧶

Half Term – Week 1 So Far!

✨What a fun-filled first week of half term we’re having! So far, we’ve enjoyed not one, but TWO chippy tea and illumination walks! We’ve also had a brilliant Movie & LEGO workshop, combining movie magic with lots of building fun!

And we’re not finished yet! We've got an exciting trip out to Eureka! today!

Lots of fun, laughter, adventures and memories being made! ❤️

What a wonderful day we had at our Wellbeing Day! People were queuing at the door from 10.30am, even though we didn’t officially start until 11.30am! It was lovely to see how excited everyone was to meet fellow carers, enjoy a cuppa and a chat and meet our visitors. 🥰

We were delighted to welcome the Cost of Living team from Blackpool Council, a team from the Citizens Advice Bureau and Kevin from CAP Gemini, who offered helpful financial and budgeting advice. Debra Scott shared information about type 2 diabetes and brought along some delicious sugar-free cakes, while Dawn treated everyone to relaxing hand massages and Reiki.

There was plenty more to enjoy throughout the day, including a delicious spread of sandwiches and cakes, mindful colouring, salt dough activities and, of course, endless cups of tea and coffee!

To round off the day beautifully, the lovely Lou joined us to lead a gentle chair yoga session, followed by a calming meditation — the perfect way to relax, unwind and focus on our wellbeing.

All in all, it was a truly beautiful day filled with friendship, support, relaxation and plenty of smiles. A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our Wellbeing Day so special! 💚

Someone has left their sloth teddy here at the centre for a while now… but don’t worry, he’s been having the BEST time! 🦥

He may have been left behind, but he’s certainly been busy becoming part of the Carers Centre family!

He’s been on many adventures, helped our team and made lots of new friends!

What a busy little sloth! We think he might have a better social life than us! 😂

🌍💙 Take5 Blue Space Warriors - Blue Influencers Make a Big Impact! 💙🌍

Our amazing Take5 Blue Space Warriors Blue Influencers absolutely smashed it last night as they met with Tom, Matt and Emily to share their ideas and call for positive changes within the centre! 🌟

Over the past few months, the group has worked brilliantly together as part of the project, learning how small changes can make a BIG difference. From recycling correctly and reducing waste to saving electricity, protecting our animals, caring for our blue spaces and preserving natural habitats, they have shown real passion, teamwork and commitment to creating a greener future. 🌱🐾🌊

The group confidently shared their learning, ideas and recommendations, explaining how these changes could help improve our environment while also saving money and energy across the centre.

The highlight of the meeting came at the end, when, in response to the group's requests for change, Tom made solemn promises to the Blue Influencers to take their ideas seriously and work towards making a positive difference. 💚

We are incredibly proud of our Blue Influencers for using their voices, sharing their knowledge and showing that young people can make a real difference! Their hard work proves that when we work together, we can protect our planet, create a better environment and inspire lasting change. 🌎👏
