Thanks to gifts left in Wills, Royal Blackburn Hospital has a dedicated Bereavement Suite - a calm, private space where people who are grieving can receive emotional support and guidance. Grief can feel overwhelming and having a safe, supportive environment can make all the difference. This space offers privacy and access to specialist support for those navigating loss.

A toy, a game or a simple activity can make a huge difference to a child in hospital 💙🧸.
Through our Power of Play appeal, we help provide toys and equipment for Children and Young People’s Services across ELHT. Play can reduce stress, support recovery, help children understand their treatment and bring comfort during what can be a frightening time.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can help create brighter experiences for our youngest patients and put more smiles on faces when they’re needed most.

We're couldn't do it without your support💙⭐. After seeing first-hand the support provided by our NICU team, from specialist treatment to the small comforts that help families through difficult days, Louise and Matthew Craven wanted to give something back. When they learned that cooling blankets rely on charitable funding, they set out to raise money to help future babies and families who may need the same care.

Taking on fundraising challenges together, they raised almost £8,000! Every donation helps us provide those extras that can make a lasting difference to patients and their loved ones ✨.

The difference we can make because of your donations 💙✨. Because of your generosity, ELHT became the first hospital in Lancashire to introduce robotic-assisted surgery in 2015 with a £1.3 million Da Vinci robot. Over 3,000 procedures have now been completed, expanding from prostate surgery to include colorectal, head and neck cancer, urology, hepatobiliary and gynaecology operations.

Stephen Knott, who was treated for colon cancer using robotic surgery, credits this ground-breaking technology and expert team for helping him recover faster. With three robots now in use across our hospitals, your donations continue to change lives every day.

Big miles for a tiny fighter 💙🏃. When Oliver Deans' son Vincent was born at just 26 weeks and five days, weighing 980g, he spent 83 days on our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Burnley General Hospital. Thanks to the incredible care of our NICU team, Vincent made a full recovery and is now thriving.
To say thank you, Oliver is taking on a huge challenge next month, a 75km ultra marathon around Lake Windermere, raising funds for ELHT&Me in support of NICU. So far, he has raised almost £2,000! If you would like to donate you can do so here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/oliver-deans-1

Our therapy dog Alfie recently had a floral makeover as part of Parishes in Bloom, with his display featured at Blackburn Cathedral alongside a range of beautiful floral creations. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing Floral Alfie to life and helping celebrate the comfort and joy he brings to our patients, families and colleagues🌸🐶.
