Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Research and Development Charity

Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Research and Development Charity The team behind LAP R&D Cancer Charity has one overriding aim: to improve patient care and work toget Registered number 1051543.

Liver and Pancreatic Cancer affects more than 15,000 patients in the UK every year. Liver and Pancreatic Cancers remain two of the worst cancers in terms of prognosis and survival rates, even when treated surgically, compared with other cancers such as breast and colonic cancers. Despite this, there is still a scarcity of funds dedicated to research and development to improve early detection and s

urgical treatment to improve results and survival rates. The Southampton Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Team performs more than 200 major procedures every year for liver and pancreatic malignancies. Their results and approach is pioneering, having a positive impact on both patients and their families. The team recognised the need to create a charitable fund to further develop the surgical techniques, ensuring they become more widely available to Liver and Pancreatic Cancer sufferers. The Charity was founded by Mr Hilal and colleagues in 2012 with the support of enthustiastic patients who agree on the need for help and support for patients affected by these serious conditions. By supporting research and the development of surgical treatment you will help us improve patient care and patient prognosis. We are a fund registered under the Southampton Hospitals Charity.
