𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻: 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲
It’s nearly full-time on the final day of our Network Rail safety campaign - but the message doesn’t change. Everyone at the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium is raising awareness that, just like in football, the right decisions matter. Always stay well clear of railway tracks and never take risks around the railway 🚆

The best result is everyone getting home safely!

Our girls and boys know how high a football crossbar is, but did you know electricity can jump even higher?! ⚡️

Our young footballers are helping spread the Network Rail message that railway safety is no game. Always stay well clear of railway lines and electrical equipment 🚇🛤️

Railway safety has been firmly on the agenda at our October Camp, with our boys and girls learning more about the dangers around the tracks and throwing their support behind our Network Rail campaign 🚆

One fact that really took them by surprise? A train travelling at 125mph needs the equivalent of 20 football pitches to stop! A powerful reminder of why staying safe around the railway is so important.

Stay off the tracks. Stay safe. Protect your future.

This is what we’ve arrived to this morning 😡

What looks like a quad bike has caused significant damage to one of our parks, a pitch we’ve worked hard on throughout the summer and were just about to bring into use for our winter programme.

With the damage caused and no grass growth at this time of year, this pitch could now be out of use for at least six months.

The impact on our community club, our kids and our volunteers will be significant. Every park we have is vital to providing opportunities for the hundreds of children who play their football with us, and the volunteers who give up so much of their time to make it all happen.

We’re fortunate to have our 3G facility, but with the club continuing to grow, we’re already pushed for space to accommodate everyone.

It’s incredibly frustrating to see the hard work of so many people potentially undone by the actions of others. These facilities belong to the community, and the damage doesn’t just affect a pitch — it affects our children, our volunteers and the wider community we serve.

If anyone has any information about how this happened, please get in touch 🙏

🙏 Please share across all your social media channels where you can so the culprits can be identified.

Whether you’re one of our coaches, secretaries or parent helpers, please take a moment to check whether you need to be part of the PVG scheme. We really need everyone to be compliant.

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and ensuring the right checks are in place helps us provide a safe environment for every young player at the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium.

Please read the guidance and visit disclosure.gov.scot to find out more.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time to support our club and our young players 🖤🤍

Disclosure Scotland is urging everyone working or volunteering in youth football, including coaches, officials, and club administration staff, to check whether they are legally required to be part of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, following concerns that some clubs may not be complying with the law.

Working or volunteering in youth football? Make sure you understand whether you need to be part of the PVG scheme.

Visit disclosure.gov.scot to find out more.

To promote the physical and mental health benefits of walking and talking as part of a healthy lifestyle we run a Walk & Talk Club from the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium. Recognising the challenges faced by many in our community, we are keen to help those who may feel socially isolated or disadvantaged to get out in the fresh air and share their experiences with others.
