🌟 MY NEXT STEPS – EXPLORING FUTURE PATHWAYS! 🌟

Today, our Kickstart Employability students explored the different education, training and employment opportunities available to them.

As part of the session, students worked together to create a visual mind map identifying potential progression routes, including:

🎓 College and further education
📚 A Levels and T Levels
🛠️ Vocational and technical qualifications
💼 Apprenticeships and foundation apprenticeships
👩‍💻 Part-time and full-time employment
🎓 University and higher education

The activity encouraged students to think about their own aspirations, explore different career pathways and understand the steps they may need to take to achieve their goals.

💭 Everyone’s journey is different, and there is no single pathway to success.

⚽️ October Half Term Football and Gaming Camps return! 🎮

If you’re looking for a fun and exciting activity for the little ones over the October School Holidays, our Football and Gaming Camps could be what you’re looking for.

🏟️ Held in the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre (The BRIC), here at Ewood Park, our camps offer children aged between 5-11 fun footballing activities, access to our Games Room, ground tours of Ewood, and meet a Rovers’ player*.

⏰ 8.30am - 5.00pm

✍️Welcome to our new Girls’ ETC signings!

Last month we welcomed our 2026/27 players to our Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre (ETC). 🔵⚪️

The programme, supported by the FA, works to develop footballing talent to compliment the girls matchday play within their respective schools and grassroots teams. ⚽️

To continue to provide a structured girls footballing pathway, we have refreshed our Monday evening Girls’ Development Centre, which will now be known as our Girls’ Pre-Emerging Talent Centre (Pre-ETC).

Designed for U10 girls (9 & 10 year olds), the sessions provide an opportunity for players to progress into our full ETC programme while developing their footballing skills.

Sessions are open to all abilities, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

⚽️ Yesterday, our Veteran football team hosted The Royal Tank Regiment Veterans (RTR) in a 7 aside friendly in the BRIC. A really good, fast pace game of football with RTR coming out 7-4 winners.

🔵⚪️ After our fixture, both teams headed over to the stadium to watch the men’s team face Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

🤝 We would like to thank RTR for travelling up to play our team today. We hope you have enjoyed it and look forward to catching up again soon. Well done to both teams for a great game of football. We would also like to thank the club for providing the veterans match tickets to be able to watch the game, which enabled us to strengthen our new friendships and rediscover that camaraderie we had when serving.

Our Thr1ve team have been out and about visiting some fantastic local providers across Blackburn, raising awareness of our Care Experienced and Care Leavers Project. 💛

We’ve been building connections, strengthening partnerships and exploring opportunities to work together to make a real difference to the lives of young people.

Along the way, we came across this beautiful Tree of Hope 🌳💛

A lovely reminder of the power of connection, the importance of meaningful conversations and the difference we can make when we look out for one another.

💙 Sometimes, talking to someone and being part of a group can make all the difference. 💙

For World Mental Health Day, we spoke to Shaun Walsh, a Support, Time and Recovery (STR) Worker with Blackburn with Darwen’s Community Mental Health Team, about the work he does alongside Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

⚽️ Through Mind Rover Matter, Shaun and our team bring people together through football, friendship and mental health support. It’s about having a place where you feel welcome, can connect with others and know you’re not alone.

🗣️Shaun’s message is simple:
“Don’t struggle on your own. There is support here in Blackburn and things can get better, and more so being part of a supporting non-judging group of people who are there for each other."
