πŸš’πŸš’ The Official Fire Station Tour πŸš’πŸš’

What a fantastic social for Billericay Round Table this week! We were lucky enough to be invited down to Billericay Fire Station to meet the crew, find out how our local on-call fire station operates, and learn more about the incredible work they do to keep our community safe.

The highlight of the evening had to be getting hands-on with some of their equipment and taking part in a search and rescue exercise, where we had to locate and rescue a casualty trapped inside a house fire while blindfolded.

πŸŽ† We're proud to work closely with Billericay Fire Station, who support us for our annual Billericay Fireworks Display. We're already counting down to this year's event on Saturday 7th November 2026, which is shaping up to be another spectacular night for the whole community.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ Have you ever thought about becoming an on-call firefighter? If so, head over to https://www.essex-fire.gov.uk/recruitment fire to find out more about the amazing role they play in our town!

🏸🏸🏸 Badminton Social 🏸🏸🏸
This year, Billericay Round Table introduced a brand-new social to our programme with an evening of badminton at the Brentwood Centre!

It was a fantastic night, with plenty of sportsmanship, healthy competition, and even a few surprise badminton talents revealed within the Table πŸ‘€πŸ”₯

We were also pleased to welcome a couple of new prospective members, alongside a great turnout from our existing members.

To round off the evening, we headed back to Billericay for a couple of well-earned drinks 🍻🍻🍻

Interested in getting involved? Come along and join us on a Wednesday night to see what Billericay Round Table is all about.

🌟🌟 Soapbox Derby 🌟🌟

What a brilliant day at the Billericay Soapbox Derby yesterday!

Many of our members were up early helping set up for the day with the team from Club of Billericay Mayflower before the crowds arrived and the racing got underway.

Once everything was ready, it was time for us to hit the track in our collaboration car with Quilters School – The Quilters Flyer. Despite picking up a small bit of damage along the way, we were really pleased to race our way to 2nd place in our category πŸ₯ˆ

Big thanks to everyone involved in organising, building, racing and supporting throughout the day. Great event, great atmosphere, and we’re already making plans to come back next year with a full car makeover and a fresh new look.

Watch this space… πŸ‘€

🌟🌟🌟 SNAP - Special Needs And Parents 🌟🌟🌟

We’re proud to support SNAP Charity with a donation towards upgrading essential equipment in their disabled changing room.

The current facilities are no longer fit for purpose, creating real challenges and risks for both users and staff. This upgrade will help ensure a safer, more accessible, and dignified experience for the families who rely on this space every day.

For over 32 years, SNAP has been making a difference to families across Essex who have a child or young person (aged 0–25) with additional needs or disabilities. Currently SNAP are supporting 5,000 families across Essex, with 485 new families registered within the last 12 months. SNAP provide vital, family-centred support without the need for a formal diagnosis, helping families access early help and build stronger connections.

A fantastic evening for Billericay Round Table members as we attended the Billericay 41 Club AGM πŸŽ‰

For those who don’t know, 41 Club is the natural next step after Round Table. Tablers β€œage out” at 45, but from age 41 onwards they can join 41 Club - continuing the friendships, camaraderie, and community spirit in a new chapter.

We’re always privileged to be invited as guests to their AGM. Nights like this are a brilliant way to bring both clubs together, building relationships and making that eventual transition feel seamless rather than sudden.

One of the key moments of the AGM saw Joe Lane officially pass the Chairman role over to Flounder, with John O’Hara stepping up as Vice Chair.

Of course, it’s always a little bittersweet seeing members move on, but the age limit exists for a reason: to keep Round Table fresh, relevant, and focused on younger men in the community. That said, we’re proud to celebrate that this year, three of our Tablers have been officially inducted into Billericay 41 Club πŸ‘

We do enjoy dressing up a few times a year but most of the time you’ll find Tablers repping their Round Table merch at events and socials.

Great to kick off our roundtable year with our first social this week – a brilliant evening and fantastic to see some new prospective members getting involved!
A big highlight of the night was welcoming Andrew as the latest member of our table and we’re delighted to have him on board.

Some of our members also attended the Area 33 AGM. Huge congratulations to Matt on stepping into the Vice Chairman role, and to Gary, who now takes on the President position after an incredible 15 years in table as he ages out. It's great to see Billericay table making a significant contribution to our area.

Area 33(Essex Round Table) brings together neighbouring tables from across Essex, providing a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from others, and strengthen those wider connections.

We also heard from Darren Couchman of the Robin Cancer Trust, a local Essex-based charity doing incredible work raising awareness of testicular and ovarian cancer in young people – a truly important cause and we are proud to be supporting the charity this year.

Last weekend, Billericay RT 594 wrapped up the year with our 68th AGM - and what a day it was πŸŽ‰

Brilliant to see such a strong turnout, with 35+ past and present members, prospective & honorary members, plus friends from 41 Club β€” including past Billericay Chairmen & Presidents πŸ’›πŸ‘

A huge moment as Kyle handed over the Chairman role to Matt, backed by a fresh council team for 26/27 πŸ…

We celebrated an incredible year β€” record fundraising for local causes πŸ’°, welcoming a wave of new tablers 🀝, and finishing strong with 3 new inductions πŸ”₯ - a real reflection of the table going from strength to strength πŸ’ͺ

Then it was off to Hackers Billericay … 🎯🍻
AR darts 🎯, β€˜cracking’ pool skills πŸŽ±πŸ˜…, and plenty of karaoke & questionable dance moves that definitely won’t be forgotten anytime soon πŸŽ€πŸ•ΊπŸ˜‚πŸŽΆ

Fancy getting involved? Drop us a message πŸ“© and come along to the next social πŸ‘€πŸ»

Here’s to another big year ahead πŸ₯‚πŸ»πŸŽ‰

The Round Table Family turned out in full force for the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean this March 2026 πŸ’ͺ♻️

Last week, our brilliant 4 Club family teamed up with Billericay 41 Club and Billericay Tangent clubs. With litter pickers in hand, bags at the ready, and plenty of laughs along the way, we took on Billericay High Street and the area around Billericay Town Football Club πŸ™οΈβš½

We’ll be honest… it was absolutely freezing πŸ₯Άβ„️ but that didn’t stop us getting stuck in!

Did you see us out there doing our thing? πŸ‘€

Great effort on the High Street last night with members of Billericay Round Table, and Billericay Tangent getting stuck in for a litter pick.

Armed with litter pickers, cold hands and determination, we filled 6 full bags of rubbish and gave the town a tidy up.

A big thank you to those stopped to thank us along the way. It means a lot and makes it worthwhile.
