The vision and purpose of our charity cafe is to create a world where we all experience a lasting sense of belonging, providing safe welcoming spaces where we support everyone in connecting sharing and experiencing kindness. Our milk, coffee, apples, and bananas are organic which supports high level of animal welfare and good quality ingredients for our customers. We embrace the "pay it forward" c

oncept, meaning your meal and time have been generously covered by customers before you. This initiative allows you to pass on that kindness, supporting others, some of who may be experiencing financial hardship or simply facing a tight month. By fostering this generosity, we can help our community grow and thrive together. We have a friendly team of passionate people, many of which are volunteers, keen to welcome you to enjoy the Human Kind Experience. We value human connection in a world where this is seen as inefficient and costly. We have lots of activities that you can join to improve your wellbeing, including mindfulness, light yoga, breath work and nutrition in the morning. A children’s play area where parents and children come together to play and connect, and a number of children’s activities such as story time and Parent, Baby And Bump Groups. Check out our website www.humankindcafe.co.uk for a full list of all the events that take place, and community groups that meet up, at Human Kind Cafe.

This Sunday 2pm-4pm
Sunday Social: The Heartbeat

About The Heartbeat:
'I started playing drums at just 8 years old on an electric Yamaha table-top kit! By 22, I moved to London to attend music college, where I earned my diploma in Music Management, Drumming, and Percussion.

Over the years I’ve played with many different bands and performed at all kinds of venues, covering a wide range of genres — from Pop, Rock and Blues, to Country, Dance and R&B.

For this gig, I’ll be playing along to some of the most popular, feel-good songs from the 80s, 90s, and right up to modern day. You’ll hear classics like:

• Madonna — Like A Prayer
• Beyoncé — Crazy In Love
• Bruno Mars — Locked Out Of Heaven'

Pop down to Human Kind Cafe this Sunday 2pm-4pm to enjoy the lively performance alongside your favourite coffee and cake.

This Friday we're hosting the first Community Drop-in from the Early Help and Wellbeing Team under Essex County Council Adult Social Services.

The Early Help and Wellbeing Team works with adults aged 18-65 across Essex (excluding Thurrock and Southend), usually for a period of 3 to 6 months. The people we work with might feel low, anxious, overwhelmed, or lacking in confidence and have decided they need help. They work with adults who experience low-moderate mental health impacts.

They are a team of Social Workers, Community Support Worker, an occupational therapist, and an Employment Adviser, and provide support to explore positive coping techniques, re-connect people with their local communities, build confidence, and provide psychoeducation. They can also support with referrals
to different services if they are not the best team for you.

Pop in Friday 2pm-4pm to chat to the team.

On 19th September, a team of volunteers, supporters and friends of Human Kind will be putting on their walking shoes and taking on a sponsored walk to raise funds for our work in the local community. This sponsored walk is in partnership with the Fun Walk Trust where any donations raised are supplemented by local businesses and donors.

At Human Kind, we believe that everyone deserves a place where they are welcomed, valued and supported. Every day, our community café and hub brings people together, helping to tackle loneliness, improve wellbeing and connect people with the support they need.

What makes Human Kind special is that no one is turned away because they cannot afford to take part. Through affordable food, community activities, volunteer opportunities and partnerships with local organisations, we create a space where everyone can belong.

We're excited to welcome Rachel Arden to perform this Sunday at Human Kind Cafe from 2pm-4pm.

About Rachel:
Originally from Coventry, I have always loved playing the piano. As a teenager, I was in a band with some friends, writing and performing our own songs. We mostly did it for fun, but we also held a couple of charity concerts in my parents’ loft. Our claim to fame was writing a song about Coventry, which we were lucky enough to perform on The Big Breakfast!

Music was put on hold while I continued my studies, started my career as a teacher, and later raised a family.

Over the last few years, my love of music has returned, and I am now enjoying writing and singing songs again. I love performing at local open mic nights and am really looking forward to playing at The Human Kind Cafe :)

Pop down to Human Kind Cafe to see Rachel perform this Sunday!
