This is Jack and his sister Faith 💜
For over a decade, Claire House has been there for Jack and his family, offering care, support and time to recharge.
Jack lives with complex medical needs and needs two carers around the clock. He was born with cerebral palsy, caused by a lack of oxygen during birth. He also has epilepsy, a tracheostomy and is visually impaired.
His family were referred to Claire House when hospital admissions and sleepless nights left them exhausted. His mum, Emma, says “Without Claire House, I dread to think how we’d have coped all these years.”
Jack visits Claire House Liverpool for day care. Being closer to home than our Wirral hospice makes a huge difference to his family. A new 24/7 hospice in Liverpool would mean more services for families like Jack’s.
And we’re here for his sisters, Ava and Faith, too, with family events where they can spend time with other children who understand.
“The girls come to family events and get to spend time with other children like them,” says Emma. “When they come to these, they get lots of attention which can be a challenge at home as Jack requires constant care.
“It gives us life back,” says Emma. “They provide rest, support, joy and laughter - we’d be lost without them.”
