What an absolutely incredible day we had over the bank holiday weekend at the Higher Bebington Park Crazy Golf Course 💚⛳️
Nearly 30 volunteers came together to help us repaint all 15 greens across the course ready for another fantastic summer in the park — and we honestly couldn’t be prouder of what was achieved together.
A massive thank you to every single person who gave up their time to help. The atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant and it was amazing to see so many people coming together to support a community project that means so much to so many local families.
We’d particularly like to thank Heart 4 Refugees who joined us, along with one of their service users. Heart for Refugees do incredible work helping asylum seekers and refugees rebuild their lives and improve wellbeing through support and empowerment. A huge thank you to Vicky for all of her support — it was lovely to have you involved.
A huge thank you as well to Rotary Club of the City of Liverpool, particularly Alison Lui for coming along and getting stuck in with the work. A huge thank you to all the Rotary Club for its support.
Special mention also to Wirral Grammar School for Boys pupil, Dylan, who joined us. Dylan completed Duke of Edinburgh volunteering hours with us and did an absolutely fantastic job throughout the day — it was a pleasure to have you with us.
A massive thank you to our friends at Brackenwood Golf Club who recently raised an amazing £170 towards this year’s restoration work. Particular thanks to club secretary Keith who has been an incredible supporter of the project and also came down to volunteer his time and help us out.
A huge thank you as well to Angie, Kim and the girls from Fit for all Bootcamp Bebington who have once again been incredible supporters of the project. They supported us last year during the original restoration and once again gave up their time to help us continue improving the course.
Thank you also to Councillor Judith Grier for coming along today to support the project and to represent the Bebington councillors, all of whom have supported the work taking place at the course.
We’d also like to thank Bebington Bowling Club and Chair Phil for once again allowing our volunteers access to the club facilities throughout the day. Your support really is hugely appreciated.
A massive thank you to our partners at Wirral Borough Council, particularly Parks Manager Carl Davies, who continues to support so much of the work we do across the community.
We were also honoured to be joined today by the lovely Hannah 🐶 who is currently being fostered by Love Bebington stalwart Phil Dain through Celandine Wood Animal Rescue. Hannah definitely kept our spirits high throughout the day and she got plenty of fuss and attention from our volunteers! Please do give Celandine Wood Animal Rescue a follow and support the amazing work they do.
The freshly painted greens are now looking fantastic and, in a couple of weeks, the brilliant Inky pickles and Lou Cross will be joining us to help refresh the murals and mosaics around the course ready for the summer holidays.
Putters and balls remain available from our friends at Go Local on Teehey Lane — a huge thank you to them as always for storing the equipment for us.
We may also be planning another community fun day at the course over the summer, so keep an eye on our social media pages for more details soon. 👀
Finally, thank you so much to all the lovely passers-by in the park today for your kind comments, encouragement and donations. It genuinely means the world to us and helps keep projects like this going.
This is what community is all about ❤️
