Temperatures were low, but spirits were high at this year’s Glow Swim at Manley Mere, where around 50 hardy supporters raised an incredible £1,741.50 to support local cancer care and research. 👏🏊

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and supported the event. Special thanks to Kate and her fantastic team at Manley Mere for hosting another wonderful night and for their continued support of the charity.

We had the best time performing for such an amazing charity Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

I also got to meet the Scouse legend John Bishop He came over to say hello when I got on stage, and I told him about my daughter who’d just been away on a 5-day residential. She was so upset when I left, saying “Mum please don’t leave me” 😢 I said I had a big gig and she said ok but only if I got John Bishop’s autograph! 😂

So I told John the story and said, “I haven’t even got a pen!” He said, “Take a picture!” What a gent and just a lovely guy🥰

We’ve also had the loveliest message from Mark who booked us:

I wanted to say once again, a huge thank you to you and the Band for what was a fantastic set. Really enjoyed it and got everyone going without question.

Thank you for being so accommodating, and for being so helpful and friendly on the night, really appreciated. With all that goes on, timings, changes, the fact that you were able to adapt to suit throughout was so very helpful.

We raised a fantastic £237,000 and we are so grateful for everyone’s involvement and contribution to that.

Hopefully we’ll see you again!

A huge thank you to TriDri for kitting out our charity team with brand new Clatterbridge Cancer Charity branded winter coats. ❄️

Anyone who has collected outdoors in the cold will know that staying warm matters. These coats mean our wonderful fundraisers can keep smiling, keep chatting and keep raising as much money as possible to support local people with cancer, whatever the weather throws at us.

A massive thank you to everyone at Caldy Rugby Club for hosting a fantastic Ladies’ Day this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for raising an incredible £2,275.35 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity through the raffle on the day. 🩷

We’re so grateful for all the time, effort and enthusiasm that went into it, from the organisers to everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets. We were also incredibly proud to see our logo on the beautiful pink rugby shirts. Thank you! 🏉

Caldy’s day shows what a community can achieve when it comes together, and there’s still time to do the same before the end of October. Any idea is a good idea. A raffle at your club, a coffee morning at work, a pink dress-down day, a sponsored walk or something entirely your own, every pound helps us support local people affected by cancer.

A huge thank you to Roy Ashley, one of our wonderful volunteers at the Halton Hospital unit, who recently walked from his home in Runcorn to his daughter’s house in Widnes and back again. That’s 11.5 miles on foot! 🤯

Roy has raised a brilliant £1,172 for the Halton Appeal, and he did it with a village behind him. His family and friends cheered him on, and so did the staff and patients from the unit he gives his time to every week. Every pound Roy has raised will help us continue supporting local people affected by cancer, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. 💚

Roy’s walk shows that a fundraising challenge doesn’t have to be complicated. A route that means something to you, and people who are ready to cheer you on, is all it takes.

We’re delighted to welcome DTM Legal to the Glow Green Night Walk team as our Chester Route Sponsors! 🟢

Support like this is so important to us. It helps us make the Glow Green Night Walk in Chester on Friday 19th March the best one yet, and it means even more of every walker’s fundraising can go towards better cancer care for people in our community.

This year, hundreds of walkers will take on a 6km route through Chester City Centre, starting and finishing at Chester Racecourse, with lanterns lighting the way along the River Dee. Thanks to DTM Legal, we can’t wait to see the city glow even brighter.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral are trialling the innovative Omni1 Respiratory Coach, a device designed to allow patients the opportunity to practice holding their breath before scanning and radiotherapy treatment.

Thanks to your support, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre are the first hospital in the world to trial it. 💚

Lots of patients are required to hold their breath during radiotherapy treatment. The Omni1 device is designed to help patients feel more confident and prepared for treatment, helpsing to lift vital organs away from the treatment area and reduce their exposure to radiation.

The Garden of Light returns to St Luke's Bombed Out Church on Tuesday November 24th , and we’re delighted to say it’s proudly sponsored by Medicash!

Their support helps us bring more than 1,800 illuminated flowers into St Luke’s Bombed Out Church in Liverpool, creating a peaceful, breathtaking space where people can pause, reflect and remember. Every flower represents someone special, and every dedication helps support local people and their families affected by cancer. 💚

Our 30th Birthday Ball last Friday raised more than £240,000 to drive forward research and help patient care for people with cancer in Cheshire and Merseyside.

With John Bishop as host, 400 guests at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel, and a standing ovation for patient Jackie and her husband Darren as they shared their story of hope, it was a night we will never forget.
