Basingstoke Mencap Basingstoke Mencap is a Registered Charity (Number 1085576) affiliated to Royal Mencap Society.

We are Basingstoke Mencap, an independent charity providing support and services for children, young people, and adults with a learning disability and their family carers in the Basingstoke area. We are self governed and managed which allows for a more flexible service tailored to the needs of our members. We provide services to people with learning disabilities in the Basingstoke area. Services

include:

* Mondays - May Club - 7-9pm - disco and activities at the Ridgway Centre CLOSED
* Tuesday - Bingo - 10-11am at the Ridgway Centre
* Wednesday - Life Skills - 10-11.30 - at the Ridgeway Centre.
* Wednesdays 1-2.30- Sports Club at the Ridgway Centre

Ø One-to-one support in the home
Ø One-to-one support in the community

Our funds are raised through our support service, grants, donations, membership subscriptions and fundraising events. We have a team of 7 support workers providing one-to-one support for people to access community and leisure activities, education and work opportunities and to increase independence in their home. We intend to increase the number of support workers by two this year and support 2 more clients. As an agency we undertake to support adults with a learning disability but within this remit our client group is diverse and includes young people, older people and people with mental health issues or physical disabilities.

Our new Autism and ADHD Community Hub launched in Andover, last week, supporting neurodivergent adults aged 18+ across North Hampshire!

The service is part of a new regional contract led by Autism Hampshire and commissioned by NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board.

We are partnering with Autism Hampshire to deliver the service locally.

The hub is based at the Andover Wellbeing Hub, with additional sessions taking place in Basingstoke.

We are so proud to be providing this service to our community 💜
