Huge thanks to everyone from The Rotary Club of Braunton Caen, who handed over this cheque for £500 raised during their recent Charity Quiz. Also thanks to the team at Quay cafe for their generous support of the event.

Fundraising events such as this one make a huge contribution to our work, enabling us to continue supporting bereaved children, young people, and their families across North Devon. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the support of our wonderful community.

FiG's Fourth 'Say Their Name' Art Exhibition will be open to the public at Castle Chambers Barnstaple
on selected dates from next week.

'Say Their Name' is a very moving collection of art work created by bereaved children, young people, and their parents/carers. It is an expression of grief and a celebration of the lives of the people they love, who have died.

If you're able to visit the exhibition on Monday 22nd June, you will also be able to experience the fabulous Mindful Monday session being held at The Castle Chambers Cafe on this day - free of charge courtesy of our friends at The Woodyard UK.

We're delighted to announce something that we've been working on behind the scenes for a while at FiG: our Grief Awareness Training for Professionals.

We've been supporting bereaved children, young people, and their families across northern Devon for over 20 years - helping more than 300 individuals last year alone. As demand for support grows, we’re launching a series of training sessions aimed at building grief-aware communities that know how to support each other.

At the moment, these sessions are aimed at professionals wanting to expand their skillset and learn how to better support children and young people who have been bereaved. Later in the year, we'll also be adding a series of community sessions that will be open to anyone wanting to learn more about how grief can affect children and young people.

We're busy prepping behind the scenes for our next Bereavement Cafe on Saturday 25th July at Castle Chambers Barnstaple.

Join us in our warm and welcoming space from 10am - 12.30pm to relax, chat, and connect with other families who have also been bereaved.

This event will feature two complimentary workshops: an aromatherapy session focusing on essential oils that aid in supporting grief, and a meditation session to introduce participants to the benefits of mindfulness.

There will also be an opportunity for children to create their own natural, infused playdough for relaxing play, and plenty of tea on offer - as well as Richard's famous homemade cake!
