Barnstaple Town Youth Marching Band have had a close association with Barnstaple Youth House for many years now.
For more information relating to the band and how to join please take a look at their page and send them a message directly.
Bands are woven into the fabric of our communities, from carnivals & fetes, to Remembrance Sunday & Armed Forces Day to Christmas & festive celebrations.
But here’s the reality…… these bands don’t run themselves. They aren’t part of the UK’s music education system.
With traditional music in state schools fading away, it’s volunteers, parents, teachers and community members who step up. They give their time, energy, and heart to keep these activities alive, get young people playing music, and bring communities together.
Marching bands reach more people with performance every year than almost any other music group, leading from the front.
Let’s recognise the vital work marching bands do for our communities and give them the backing and support they need.
