Domestic abuse doesn't discriminate, but support doesn't always feel like it's meant for everyone.

This is for you. Whoever you are, whatever your situation looks like, we're here 🧡

It's okay if today feels harder than yesterday. That doesn't undo the progress you've made.

You're not doing it wrong - you're just doing it 🧡

A quick update on our Sunrise Walk 🌅

After reviewing sign-ups, we've made the decision not to go ahead with the walk this September. If you'd already booked your place, a full refund is on its way to you now. We'd still love to bring this event to life in the future so watch this space, and thank you for your support as always 🧡

If you’re carrying blame that was never yours to carry - we see you, and we believe you.

Healing starts with knowing the truth, even before you’re ready to say it out loud.

You don’t have to face this alone.

Support is here whenever you’re ready 🧡

Could you help shape the future of NDADA?

We are looking for a voluntary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help strengthen the financial oversight of our growing charity.

You do not need previous charity experience. We would love to hear from someone with experience in finance, accountancy, audit, banking, financial management or senior budget responsibility who can explain financial information clearly and work collaboratively.

This is an opportunity to use your skills to support a charity making a real difference to people affected by domestic abuse across Devon.

Trustees attend six evening Board meetings each year in Barnstaple. The Treasurer will also join regular finance subgroup meetings and work alongside our Chair, CEO and Finance Manager. Volunteer expenses can be covered.

Interested, or know someone who might be a great fit? Please contact [email protected] for an information pack and application form.

💜 Could your safeguarding experience help transform the response to domestic abuse within Devon Children’s Social Care?

NDADA is recruiting for two exciting IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Adviser) roles, working alongside Devon Children’s Services to improve safety and outcomes for adult victims of domestic abuse and their children.

📍 Children and Families Assessment Team IDVA
This role can be based anywhere in Devon, with hybrid working available.

📍 Front Door IDVA
This role will be based within the Front Door in Exeter, helping to ensure families affected by domestic abuse receive specialist support from the earliest point of contact. Hybrid working is also available.

These are fantastic opportunities for people with a safeguarding background who want to use their experience in a specialist role where they can influence decision making, advocate for victims and their children, and help professionals develop informed and trauma responsive approaches to domestic abuse.

Your experience may come from social care, education, health, housing, early help, family support, criminal justice or the voluntary sector. If you can build trusted relationships, work confidently with other professionals and keep the safety and voice of victims at the centre of your practice, we would love to hear from you.

Both roles offer:

🏠 Hybrid working options
đźš— Free parking (within Children's Services)
đź’ś Support from a specialist and reflective team
🌱 Meaningful work that can make a lasting difference to families

You do not need to meet every element of the person specification. If you have relevant experience, transferable skills and a commitment to improving responses to domestic abuse, we encourage you to apply and we can invest in your development.

Take your safeguarding experience somewhere it can make a real difference.
