Barnsley Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to hundreds of local people and their families each year.

Barnsley Hospice is a charity (reg number 700586) providing specialist palliative and end of life care for people living with a life-limiting illness and those close to them. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients with a life limiting diseases, whilst supporting their families, during periods of illness and at the end of life. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and bereavement support. We are a charity - our care is free for patients but not free to provide. We are funded through an NHS grant, plus the generous donations and fundraising efforts of our community and supporters. Please note, we care for patients at home, in the community and at the hospice. We care for patients with all life-limiting illnesses - not just cancer. And, we support patients' families and those close to them too.

✨ Light up a Life is our annual remembrance campaign, giving supporters the chance to celebrate and remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Hoylandswaine Sports & Athletic Club and everyone involved in their annual coffee morning, which raised an incredible £2,344.30 for Barnsley Hospice. ☕

It was a wonderful morning filled with a real sense of community, plenty of delicious home-baked treats, fantastic raffle prizes and lots of friendly faces.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, baked, organised and supported the event. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated by our team. 🧡

Have you seen this update from our Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub? 👇🧡

We are always looking for ways to improve what we do here at the Retail Hub. With that in mind, we are pleased to share some exciting changes that will be taking place soon:

🧡 From Monday 2 November, we will be changing our opening times to make it easier to shop and donate with us. Monday to Saturday, we'll be open 9:30 am to 5 pm. On Sunday, we'll be open from 10 am to 4 pm.

🧡 We will now be accepting donations Monday to Saturday. The Retail Hub will still be open on Sundays for shopping, but we kindly ask that you drop your donations off throughout the rest of the week. This small change will help us move our stock faster and ensure your donations are generating funds in support of the hospice as soon as possible.

We are so grateful for your support, which makes a huge difference to our local community.

That's 12 invigorating 12-minute workouts – one an hour, every hour! ⏰

Barnsley Yorkshire Traction Club recently held its annual fundraising celebrations, joined by friends from Scotland who travelled down to be part of the event.

Fundraising took place over three days and included golf, football, darts, raffles and much more, culminating in a special dinner and awards evening. 🥂

Thanks to their incredible generosity and fundraising efforts, the group kindly donated £5,500 to support the hospice and the specialist care we provide to local families when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone at the Yorkshire Traction Group and their friends for this amazing support. 🧡
