Are you ready to launch your career in care? Whether you're just starting out, exploring your options, or looking to re-enter the workforce, this is your moment to gain the skills, confidence, and motivation you need to succeed. 💼✨

Crossroads (Barnsley) Ltd., in partnership with Barnsley CVS, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, NHS South Yorkshire, and the UK Government, is excited to offer another free care training sessions through the Pathways to Work Initiative—designed to empower Barnsley residents and open doors to real employment opportunities in the care sector and beyond.

This is because the Pathways to Work initiative focuses on removing the practical barriers to seeking or being gainfully employed like childcare, ill-health, low-skills, low motivation and confidence to ensure that aspirations are actualised at your own pace.

💡 Why Join?
This is more than just a training—it’s a stepping stone to the future you desire. Build confidence, learn practical skills, meet new people, and move one step closer to securing meaningful employment.

👥 Who Is It For?
This programme is ideal if you:
• Are aged 16–24 and have never been employed
• Face personal, health, or wellbeing challenges that affect job readiness
• Are currently in a low-skilled or low-paid role and want to upskill
• Have previously left employment and are ready to rejoin the workforce

🎓 What You’ll Gain
You will receive hands-on, interactive training from experienced care professionals in a welcoming and non-judgemental environment. The programme is tailored to you—helping you grow in confidence and prepare for a fulfilling and rewarding career in care or in other sectors. In addition, candidates also have the opportunity to explore the services provided by other organisations within the Pathways to Work cohort to ensure that an holistic and robust experience which will foster mental, physical and psychological wellbeing is chieved.

Training Sessions Include:
• Introduction to Care Industry: Legislation, Policies & Settings
• CV Writing, Application Forms & Interview Preparation
• Health & Safety
• Person-Centred Approach
• Safeguarding & GDPR
• Disability Awareness (Autism, Dementia, Oliver McGowan)
• Accredited Emergency First Aid at Work
• Principles of Medication & Administration
• People Moving & Handling

• Dates: 18th June – 23rd June
• Location: Crossroads Social Care Academy

We are sharing an important opportunity through the Friends of the Elderly Grants Programme, which offers financial support to help with essential living costs for older individuals experiencing hardship.
