Healthwatch Barnsley Making sure NHS leaders and decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care

At Healthwatch Barnsley, we are here to listen to your views about your treatment and care from your local NHS services. We will then share your feedback with the service providers and use our influence to make sure that change happens. By speaking up, services can be improved, or services can be commended for working well. It helps to ensure that good practice is maintained and reflects the needs

of Barnsley. Share your experiences with us and help improve health and social care in Barnsley for you and your family.

Did you know you can order repeat prescriptions in the NHS App?

If you take medicine regularly, you'll usually have a repeat prescription. This means you can order your medicine without having to see a GP every time. Handy, right?

Here's how to request it in just 4 easy steps:

1️⃣ On the homepage, tap prescriptions, and then tap repeat prescription.

2️⃣ Check your chosen pharmacy (or choose one if you’ve not done so before). Tap continue.

3️⃣ Pick your medicines from the list and tap continue.

4️⃣ Happy with everything? Hit request prescription, and it’s all sorted!

‼️‼️ A big thank you to everyone who has completed our survey so far - you are helping us to build a picture of how and why people use the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (A&E) in Barnsley. This will help us to look at what improvements could be made to make the process smoother for residents accessing emergency care.
📣📣 Please encourage anyone you know who may have used the service in the last 6 months to complete the survey so we can make sure we are hearing from as many voices as possible 🚑🙏

📣 Have you used Barnsley Hospital’s Accident & Emergency Department in the last 6 months?
We’d love to hear about your experience.
We’re running a short survey to understand what brought people to A&E and whether there were other services that could have been used instead. Your feedback will help us:
✨ Identify any gaps in local services
✨ Understand if other options weren’t available when you needed them
✨ Find out whether clearer information could help people choose the right place for care
Your experience matters, and it will directly shape improvements across Barnsley’s urgent care services.
👉 Please take a few minutes to complete the survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/UrgentEmergencyCare/
Thank you for helping us make services better for everyone 💛
