On Friday, all the learners took their Level 2 Functional Skills exam and are awaiting their results.

To ensure they are keeping up with their skills, we are having a specific focus this week on the use of formulas for area and perimeter, scale factors/scaled diagrams, and the use of money.

These activities allow for the learners to apply their knowledge to real-world contexts and provide inspiration for them to apply their Maths skills in the future at home.

She is one of our Community Information Support Officers, you may have already met her before you started your course, as part of her role is making sure you start your learning journey in the right place for your goals.

Something you might not know about her is she has just completed the 'Couch to 5k' programme and now has the running bug!

🌟 Exciting news! 🌟

A new home for learning is on the way — and we can’t wait to welcome you in. Over the coming months, we’ll be working closely with our learners to make sure you feel informed, supported and ready for this exciting new chapter.

Cabinet has approved a £1.5 million investment to create a modern new learning facility for our Employment and Skills service. This exciting move will give people a high‑quality space to grow their skills, build confidence, and boost their job prospects.

The new facility is scheduled to open for learners in September 2026.

We know this may feel like a big change for some of our learners. Over the coming months, we’ll be working closely with you to feel supported and ready for this exciting new chapter.
