SHAFTSBURY DRIVE CAR PARK.

I'm pleased to inform you that work has finally started on installing drainage to the rear of the shops on the Cloughfields Estate.

Anybody who has contacted me can verify I started dealing with the complaints some 2 years ago.

The confusion was that nobody knew who owned the land. Anyway after keeping in touch with Council, and getting passed around various departments, funding was found to support the drainage problem.

I really hope this brings a relief to these businesses that were regularly flooded.

SLABS LAID

Recent work has taken place in readiness for the 2 Rockingham Colliery memorial benches to be placed at Allotts Corner and in Birdwell.

As part of the Love Where You Live project, money was spent on these. It was thought that there was nothing commemorating the history of Rockingham Colliery, it's workers and families.

These benches are separate to the Rockingham Wheel project.

Hopefully soon, the benches will be in situation.
