MILITARY vs CANCER – SURREY 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE 2027

21–23 May 2027 | The walk takes place on Saturday 22 May

Are you ready to lace up your boots, take on a fantastic physical challenge and be part of something truly special?

Military vs Cancer is inviting you to join us for our Surrey 3 Peaks Challenge, bringing people together for a brilliant team adventure while raising vital funds to support serving personnel, veterans and their immediate families affected by cancer.

Whether you're serving, a veteran, part of the wider Armed Forces community, or simply someone who loves a challenge, we'd love you to join our team!

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

🥾 The Challenge: 23 miles (37 km)
⏰ Start time: 07:30 on Saturday 22 May 2027
🎯 Fundraising target: £250 per person

CHOOSE YOUR OPTION:

🔹 Full Package – £65 per person
Includes all meals and accommodation.

🔹 Day-Walk Option – £15 per person
Join us for the walk on Saturday 22 May, with breakfast and a packed lunch included.

📌 IMPORTANT: Everyone pays an additional £50 registration fee, regardless of which option they choose.

National Chocolate Day – A Dramatic Appeal to Our CEO

We need to talk.

It is National Chocolate Day, and yet the office sits in a state of shocking, heartbreaking, soul‑crushing emptiness.
No bars.
No buttons.
Not even a rogue Celebrations tub hiding behind the printer.

Morale has plummeted.
Hope is fading.
Staff have begun whispering… “Where is David? Why has he forsaken us?”

As our fearless CEO — our guiding light — our Commander of Cocoa‑Based Joy — we must ask you directly:

Why do we have NO chocolate in this office?

Well, this is fantastic news… our Military vs Cancer Christmas Party on 5 December is officially SOLD OUT!

All 320 places have been filled, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the incredible support.

A huge thank you to everyone who has bought a ticket, booked a table, supported us, spread the word or helped make this event possible. Every single bit of support helps us continue our work supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families affected by cancer.

We're looking forward to an unforgettable evening, bringing people together for a fantastic Christmas celebration, with our brilliant compere Antony Cotton and plenty more to look forward to!

ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT. NOW IT'S OUR TURN TO STAND TOGETHER.

During his service with the Royal Air Force, former Chinook pilot Flt Lt Chris Gordon showed extraordinary courage, risking his own life to rescue others under fire in Afghanistan. His bravery earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Today, Chris and his family are facing a different battle. Chris has been diagnosed with severe aplastic anaemia, a rare and life-threatening blood disorder. He urgently needs a stem cell transplant, but a suitable donor has yet to be found.

At Military vs Cancer, we believe in standing alongside our Armed Forces community and their families when life takes an unexpected turn.
Now, we are asking our military family, our supporters and the wider public to come together to help spread the word.

World Mental Health Day

Today, on World Mental Health Day we want to speak simply and honestly.

Every one of us carries something. Some carry grief. Some carry fear. Some carry responsibilities that feel heavier than they look.
And some carry pain so quietly that nobody notices until they finally speak. We see this every day in the families we support, and it reminds us of one thing:

Talking saves people.
Listening supports people.
And neither costs a thing.

If you’re struggling, please reach out ….
to someone, anyone, wherever you are. A friend, a neighbour, a colleague, a family member. You don’t need the perfect words. You don’t need to be brave. You just need to begin.

And if someone reaches out to you, listen. Really listen. You don’t need to fix anything. You don’t need answers. You just need to make it safe for them to speak. Being approachable can change the direction of someone’s day, or their life.

Mental health isn’t a trend or a slogan. It’s the everyday reality of people in our communities, workplaces, and families. It’s the quiet moments when someone finally says, “I’m not okay,” and trusts you enough to say it out loud.

Our promise as a charity and as people, is to keep creating spaces where talking feels safe, and where listening is done with compassion, patience, and respect.
