Amazing news - our beautiful squirrel monkeys have just had a little one. Born today, both mum and baby are doing so well.

We have a privacy screen up at the enclosure but there is a small viewing area so visitors can peek in without disturbing them.

Visit this half term and see all our fantastic animals.

Here she is - the beautiful Yoshi!

She is such a greater talker. If she has ever said anything to you, please share in the comments below. We are trying to find out the extent of her vocabulary.

🐱 BRITAIN'S MOST MYSTERIOUS MAMMAL 🐱

Did you know we have our OWN wild cat right here in Perthshire Zoo? Our beautiful old girl is called Maree.

Did you know, in the wild they live to just 6–8 years — fewer than 7% reach their 10th birthday

Here in captivity at Perthshire Zoo they live between 12–15 years — safe, cared for, and part of vital conservation work

Maree is 13 years old.

Do you know how to spot a REAL wildcat (not a tabby!)

✅ Thick, bushy, BLUNT tail — never pointy
✅ Bold black stripes — crisp, clear, no swirls
✅ One thick dark stripe down their back
✅ Broad face, thick fur, built for the Highlands

⚠️ The heartbreaking truth!

They are CRITICALLY ENDANGERED — fewer than 30 pure wildcats left in the wild.

Roads, disease, and breeding with feral cats have pushed them to the edge.

This is where YOU come in
Every experience to Perthshire Zoo directly supports the wildcat conservation breeding programme. We're protecting a national treasure — right here, right now.
