⚜️ Volunteer Work Day ⚜️
Another brilliant day at Furzefield and a full carpark! Once again it showed exactly what keeps this campsite going, our volunteers. Giving up time, sharing skills, and cracking on whatever the weather.
The Campsite Team - Katie, Ian, Jason and Matt, were on hand all day keeping things moving and tackling jobs across site.
Harvey brought out the digger and took on a big task, digging out a ditch and removing invasive bamboo to open the area back up.
A huge team effort went into ditch digging and bridge building, with support from Karl, Cam, and Jason with his son Aiden (1st Angmering), Glynn and Ade (1st Rustington), Stuart (4th Littlehampton), Debbie (1st Yapton), and Sam and Simon from Sussex Forest Activities.
Mark spent the day cutting up dead trees, while Jason (Viking ESU) kept busy splitting and processing logs ready for future use.
Steve (1st East Preston) measured up the cabin in preparation for the new flooring.
Our Explorers; Daisy, Evelyn, Dan, Erin, Charlie and Zack kept the fires going, burning old woodstock and helping clear space across site.
And of course, Jill kept everyone fuelled with much-needed tea ☕ (always essential!).
So much was achieved in one day. Thank you to everyone who turned up, mucked in, and made a real difference ⚜️
