🌟 Volunteers’ Week 🌟

Last week, we celebrated our incredible volunteers 🐾

It was wonderful to come together and show our appreciation for the dedication, kindness, and hard work our volunteers give to both our team and the animals in our care.

We also had the pleasure of celebrating the amazing Audrey, who was presented with a special award by Billy on behalf of everyone at Wadars in recognition of an incredible milestone, fostering 100 dogs! 🏆🐶

Thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do. We simply couldn’t do it without you ❤️

This very lively man is Lucifer. He has gone from being a little unsure of us when he first came into our care, to his now very out-going personality.

He is a fun-loving, excitable cat with a big personality and plenty to say for himself. Lucifer thrives on interaction, whether that’s exploring his surroundings, or chatting away to let you know exactly what he’s thinking. He’s also a huge foodie, which we think could lead to some entertainment from him in the kitchen, depending on your point of view of cheeky behaviour.

We are looking for a home with no other pets where Lucifer can be the centre of attention. He could live with older children who will understand his nature, who will give him the space he needs to settle, and have some time alone when he gets over-stimulated.

If you are interested in Lucifer, please complete our online application form here: https://wadars.co.uk/cat-adoption/

🐾Small pets can make wonderful companions, but different species have very different needs. Taking time to choose the right pet for your home helps ensure that you are making the right decision for both your family and the animal.

🐹Gerbils are fascinating to watch and love digging and tunnelling, but they are quick and can be tricky for young children to handle. Hamsters are active and entertaining, but as nocturnal animals they usually sleep during the day and wake when it’s time for bed.

🐀Rats are very social and often enjoy human interaction, but they need plenty of space and daily attention. Guinea pigs are gentle and vocal companions who must live with another guinea pig and need secure housing with space to graze and explore.

🐰Rabbits can also make lovely pets, but they are prey animals and often dislike being picked up. They need plenty of space, a rabbit companion, and patient, supervised handling.

💜Before bringing any small animal home, it’s important to research their needs and consider their long-term care. Choosing carefully helps give every pet the best chance at a happy life.

Do you recognise this cat? It has been seen around the Rosemary Drive area of Shoreham since March. At this stage the cat appears to be perfectly healthy and well fed, but does not have a microchip. For this reason we are carrying out a few checks locally to try to confirm whether it is in fact owned. If you recognise this cat or know who it might belong to, please do let us know. Meanwhile please do share this post.
