We are a committee that's been running for over 50 years & run events for all pensioners in Plains

02/11/2026

We haven't got many names for our Christmas shopping trip to Braehead, so we have decided that if any adults under 60 would also like to come then there would be spaces available for a cost of £5 per person. There's no charge for anyone 60 or over from Plains.

We will be leaving Bruce St at 10am and returning at 4pm so if any other adults would like a seat on the bus then please let us know

Many thanks

We have a few names for the Christmas shopping trip on 11th November but it would be great if more people 60 and over came along.
If you or anyone you know want to come on 11th Nov please let us know so we know how big a bus to book.

We will be leaving Bruce St at 10am to go to Braehead and returning at 4pm.

Hopefully this is plenty of time to get some shopping done and a wee.lunch if you fancy it.

PM our page or contact any of the committee.

We have been so fortunate with the amount of support and donations recently so want to put them.to.good use and support our pensioners.

We are hoping to run another bus this year for another wee Christmas shopping trip going to Braehead on Wednesday 11th November. 🎄🎅

We did this last year and put on a big bus but would have been better with a minibus due to the numbers. Everyone who came along had a lovely wee day so we are hoping to do this again.

However if we get enough names we can decide how to go forward with this and hopefully it'll be bigger and better this year.

If you are interested in coming along and are 60 or over from Plains then please let us know as we would like to get this organised ASAP. The bus will be free to everyone who is eligible.

Either PM the page or let one of the committee know.

If we can gauge interest it'll let us plan whether to book a minibus or a larger bus.

Thank you 😊

Wow, what a turn out we had tonight for our prize bingo. The hall was full and we raised an amazing £1278 which is an incredible amount.

Thank you to everyone who came to support us and to the people who donated the absolutely fantastic prizes.

We are always extremely grateful to the people in our wee village and also the people outwith Plains who continue to support us and who are so generous to us.

This will allow us to continue to provide outings, our Christmas party and hopefully more events for anyone over 60 from Plains and we cannot do it without you all.

Thank you so much again ❤️😊

***We have a wee update on this and the amount raised was actually £1449 as there was money we forgot to include. This makes it even more amazing and thank you once again to everyone who supported us*** ❤️

This is just a wee reminder that our prize bingo is tomorrow at 7pm sharp in St David's Chapel Hall

Everyone is welcome to come along for a great wee night.

Also and prizes for either the bingo or raffle would be greatfully received.

Thank you 😊

Our annual prize bingo night is on Tuesday 20th October in St David's Chapel Hall

Starts at 7pm sharp.

Open to everyone and tickets can be got from any committee member or pay at the door on the night.

We have had amazing support over the last few years and it's been a great night so come along and have a fun night.

We would really appreciate if anyone could donate any prizes for either the bingo or the raffle as everyone has been so generous and supportive in the past.

This is to allow us to continue providing our outings and Christmas parties.

Please share with family and friends 😊

This is just to say a massive thank you to Julie Shedden who did the Kiltwalk recently and raised a phenomenal £540 which she is kindly donating to our organisation.

We are absolutely delighted that someone would do this for us and massively appreciate this amazing gesture.

Thank you 😊

Great wee day out at Peebles...think everyone really enjoyed it

23/07/2026

Just a wee reminder that the cut off date for names for the trip to Peebles is Friday 24th July.

If you intend to come please give your name to any committee member to ensure a space on the bus.

This is so we know whether to order an extra bus as the 1st bus is almost full. We don't want to waste funds hiring a 2nd bus if we don't need it as it would still need to be paid for.

Also if you have given your name to say you're coming along but now can't make it, if you can please also let us know to free up spaces on the bus.

Many thanks and hopefully everyone has a lovely day out and the weather is kind to us 😎

😎🌞😎🌞😎🌞😎🌞😎🌞😎🌞😎

Just to let everyone know that our summer trip is going to Peebles on Sat 1st August.

Bus leaves Bruce St at 11.15am sharp.

If you want to come please let a member of the committee know as the bus seats are filling up fast and we don't want people to miss out.

Free to attend for all people aged 60 and over who live in Plains.

Everyone is welcome to come along

PM the page or phone

Caroline Kane 07791406315
Eleanor McDonald 07793 196695
Hugh McDonald 07788554986

Come along and hopefully we get fab weather 🌞

Just a wee update that the bus is almost full now. However if we get more names we might need to source a mini bus as well to accommodate everyone.

However we would need definite names so we don't hire a mini bus that we don't need.

If you or anyone you know is planning on coming on the trip then names need to be given to a committee member to ensure a place on the bus.

Also if you have your name down and then can't make the trip PLEASE let us know to free up spaces if needed.

Everyone over 60 is welcome to come along and hopefully it will be a great day out 🌞😎
